Newbie question

Please forgive me for this question.. Will my 5th wheel's battery still charge if all breakers are turned off and I am still plugged into shore power? Thanks in advance!
  • DutchmenSport: pretty sure that's NOT how yours works. If the AC is off, your battery is NOT being charged. In fact, the battery is being drained by loads on the 12 volt side.
  • I differ. The "breakers" run the OutPut for AC. If the AC exceeds the camper's 30 or 50 volt system, then the main "breaker" pops, but that does not stop the 12 volt side from running and charging the battery. The 12 volt side output is regulated through the auto-style fuses in the converter. If all the "fuses" are pulled, it will still charge the battery. The only thing that will stop the battery from charging is a battery cut off switch. That's how mine works.
  • Depends on how its wired. A volt meter will tell you for sure.
If your plugged in, why turn everything off?
