Never had any gas smell. Tire rubber smell is much more of an issue. We do have a separate garage.Re: Toy Haulers with lowest ground clearanceThe Work and Play and trailers made by horse trailer manufactures are much lower to the ground than traditional haulers. The downside is that the living quarters are more spartan. The bed is more like a truck camper.Re: Air ride pin box questionThanks for the help everyone!Re: Air ride pin box question opnspaces wrote: Are you talking about a picture like this where the kingpin is tilted backwards? I would assume that it would lift up and level out as you back the truck under the trailer. Click For Full-Size Image. Yes, like that, only some in some pics it looks even more tilted.Re: Air ride pin box questionGuess I worded it wrong. In some pics it looks like the front of the king pin plate is tilted down. The king pin itself angled back.Air ride pin box questionIn some pictures it looks like the king pin part of the pin box is pointed down. Is it hard to get hooked up with these systems?Re: Norcold N611 sudden AC issue elraie wrote: @Doug: so no luck with the 12v direct to car battery method. Checked optical board, reseated wires going into the jumper, no luck. But then I decided to pull the AC cable and try it on an extension cord, and it immediately switched over to AC. Since the extension is plugged to the RV (fed from main panel), I'll assume this is a fridge outlet issue, and not AC ripple? But I was measuring good AC voltage going to the control board when it was plugged into the fridge outlet, so I'm a bit stumped. Trouble now is that they buried the fridge outlet box so high up, it's not accessible without removing the cooling unit. Seems easier to trace this fridge supply wire back to the panel, and just install some new romex and outlet box. Maybe check the breaker. Could be it's not letting enough amperage through. Thanks again for your help! Re: Ram fuel mileage2020 Ram 3500 single rear wheel, standard output. 16-20 mpg running solo on highway. Depends on terrain, wind, speed, etc. 9-12 mpg pulling 34', 14k toy hauler.Re: Diesel to Gas Power ObservationWent from a 2015 Hemi to a 2020 Cummins. Tow a 14k toy hauler in the wind and mountains of Montana. Hemi made 11-14 mpg solo and 4-7 towing. Diesel makes 16-20 solo and 8-12 towing. Diesel levels the hills both up and down. Exhaust brake is awesome. Won't be going back to a gas to tow with any time soon.Re: bpconversion goose neck conversion dsrace wrote: Mmaxed wrote: It sure sounds like you are light on tongue weight now. As you said a fifth wheel/goose neck should have 25% of the weight on the pin. If you are light now, how will you ever have the weight you need with the conversion? A fiver with too light pin weight is just as bad as a bumper pull. so the GN conversion would all but remove sway, That is not true in all cases. Twice I have pulled goose neck flat beds that had too light of tongue weight. Got plumb scary over about 50 mph, until we stopped and shifted some cargo forward. My point is that if too little tongue weight is your problem now, the goose neck conversion may not fix it. Start my knowing your current weights.
