I've read through other posts on TV, but I'd like to know what's the most scenic campground there. Who has the best view to take in with your morning coffee? We like laid back, quiet places. Of course would also like it to be a well maintained/clean location and have a pool for my kids. Wifi not necessary. Hauling a 26 ft travel trailer. thanks in advance!Re: Chicago area where do you go?I've heard good things about Warren Dunes, just into SW Michigan. Camp and swim in the lake.Re: Mt. RushmoreI HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Rafter J. It was beautiful, quiet, clean, well maintained, a lot of shaded spots, nice pool, and it's on the edge of Black Hills National Forest so we had our morning coffee overlooking hills and trees. Also, we liked that Hill City is as "tourist trap-y" as Keystone. More laid back. https://www.rafterj.com/Re: What to do within the week before 1st trip "Well, if he's not listening to you, he sure as hell won't listen to a bunch of strangers on a web forum" Actually, you'd be surprised. He will listen to people who have experience. All went well, no problems. Forgot to bring just a couple things. No issues with the trailer itself. Thanks for the suggestions all. Hey, how do I get that cool little US map were you can color in which states you've been to??Staying Outside Yellowstone? So, we've last minute change of plans and I'm trying to plan a trip to Yellowstone in July. I can get a night here and there IN the park. Is it worth even going if we have to mostly stay somewhere outside of the park? If so, recommendations for places outside the park? I KNOW it's advisable to book very very early, I KNOW it's better to stay in the park. But a major surgery is changing our plans. What to do within the week before 1st tripNeed tips on what we need to do within the week before our 1st trip. Husband just wants to get the trailer out of storage Friday, throw our bags in and leave--I know we'll need more time than that, and I'm sure there are things I won't even think of that need to be done/brought. Maintenance-wise we just got it all 'summer-ized', new tires, and various mechanical things done to it. :hRe: Bad back-Mattress Recommendations? Thanks for all the good ideas. We bought the trailer used and the mattress is a complete piece of junk. You basically just sink to the bed--there ARE springs, but they're useless. We have a sleep number at home (his is at 100, mine is 55!) didn't even think anyone would MAKE an adjustable in a short queen. Not sure if we can afford another sleep number, but I'll look into it and all the other ideas! I don't want to spend a ton of money, but if he's in more pain than normal we'll all be miserable on trips.Bad back-Mattress Recommendations?Hello, we're newbies, just bought our first travel trailer. We HAVE to buy a new mattress before camping, so I'm doing some research. We need a good, short queen that is VERY firm for my husband with an extremely bad back. Any recommendations? Any brick and mortar stores to find a short queen, so we can try them out IN PERSON? (we live in Illinois, only 1 Camping World haven't made it there yet) I'd rather not waste the time and money ordering something online only to have it not work out. Thanks in advance!
