These are for draining the unit after each camp, or for winterizing. If someone removed the caps on you, you wouldn't get any water pressure inside. You would however have a large puddle under your unit when you turn on the city connection. Also, maybe you have a shutoff valve in your unit that you may have accidentally turned off.
