I have not yet pulled our trailer with the new truck and was curious what everyone's experience was the GM factory brake controllers. Our trailer is roughly 8500# loaded. What settings do you use? Any adjustment tricks? This is all new to me and appreciate any guidance you can offer.Re: Ordered New Rubber TodayA quick update: This morning a got an email from DT asking me to fill out a customer survey. I was honest and politely let them know I didn't appreciate being told one thing and finding out someone dropped the ball on getting the tires ordered. A couple hours later I get a call from the store manager. He apologizes repeatedly for the oversight; I tell him thanks and not to worry about it. He insisted on "making it right" and proceeded to tell me he would refund the purchase price of two of my tires. I tried to tell him that wasn't necessary but the manager said it was in order to keep my business and recommendation. Needless to say, DT has earned my future tire purchases. I didn't think customer service like that existed anymore.Re: Ordered New Rubber Today tbred wrote: Would you be willing to share what location of Discount tire you purchased them? Planning on ordering these from our DT up here and hoping they will match their own price! Springfield, MO While still happy about the price and excited about the tires, it seems their customer service leaves a little to be desired. They were supposed to order the tires and have them in by Friday. I spent several hours earlier in the week jacking up one side of the trailer and pulling off the first two tires. Called them yesterday afternoon to see about dropping off the tires and learned the store in IN where they were coming from never shipped them. Looks like it will be Tuesday or Wednesday now. :(Re: Ordered New Rubber Today Old-Biscuit wrote: What size are they? Discount Tire has always done me right....I like doing business with them 225/75 R15 E And I too was pleasantly surprised. I'll use them again.Ordered New Rubber TodayI've been researching tire options for the trailer the past few weeks and pulled the trigger tonight. I'd decided on the new Goodyear Endurance because it's American made and will allow me to drive highway speeds. Stopped at the Goodyear store on the way home and about had a heart attack when they quoted me $699 for a set of four. Thanked the salesman for his time and decided to keep shopping. I remembered a new Discount Tire store that opened a few weeks ago in town and stopped by there next. As soon as I told them what I was looking for the manager volunteered they been getting a lot of calls for that tire. $597 with a $100 rebate, so $497 OTD! Told the wife I saved us $200 tonight. What brand do you recommend? Thanks for your input. I've read many good things about the TST 507. I'm considering getting this system for my 5er before a big trip next summer. You'll need new valve stems if you get one of these systems. They thread onto the valve stem and the standard rubber stems can't handle the extra weight. You'll need metal stems to make it work. KJ Thanks for the heads up on the valve stems.Re: TPMS recommendations neededNew tires are most certainly on my horizon. However, as has been said, new rubber won't prevent nails and other debris from causing a flat. I'd always assumed I'd feel a flat. I learned otherwise on the ND/MT border on our last trip. Pulled off for fuel and discovered one of the trailer tires wasn't just flat, it was gone. All that was left was two beads of rubber around the rim. Thankfully there wasn't damage to the trailer. God only knows how far we'd driven like that. TST is the brand I'm leaning towards. Thanks for the replies.TPMS recommendations neededI am in need of a remote tire pressure monitoring system for my trailer. What brand do you recommend? Thanks for your input.
