The YouTube style format is good for showing a project in it's totality, once completed, including an edited build history. The thread format is also searchable.Re: Step one. Bought the van.I just found this today, started with the thread on RVLife's Class B Forum, jumped to this but just hit the end. Is there, or will there be more?Re: Buyer's Agent? Thanks, Brett, your advice is good. I've pretty much continued researching and coming up with a "possibles" list to explore in more details. After my original posting I pretty much came to the conclusion that any such broker would eventually become pretty close to the dealer community.Re: Buyer's Agent? Thanks, but this looks like a wolf in sheep's clothing.Re: Buyer's Agent? You're right. I don't have any concerns about assessing the quality and condition of the house systems, body, etc. and there are mechanics to evaluate the engine/drive train, etc. My major concern is not overpaying. With all I've read about NADA, etc. determining a fair buying price for a used rig, in particular, is pretty much a crapshoot. Thanks for the info on the buyer's agent, it looks like they don't exist. I'll be posting another topic dealing with our needs for accommodating a wheelchair, which severely limits the number of suitable rigs (resulting in fewer opportunities for pricing comparisons and negotiations). We don't need full, ADA accessibility but we do need a minimum of 27" clear access at the entry door and in all passage ways plus reasonable (but not ADA) bed/toilet/bath access. I have a lift solution identified. It's amazing how many rigs look like they'll work and then there's a 25" choke point somewhere. I've measured 10 to 12 30' - 33' motorhomes in the past week or so and only about 3 models will work.Buyer's Agent?Buying one's first motorhome is so fraught with challenges, I was wondering if there is such a thing as a buyer's agent who can assist you in finding a good unit and in negotiating a fair price. I've owned two travel trailers in the $10k - $16k range but motorhomes are new to me and carry much higher prices. If there are such agents, how do you find them?Olympian Wave 3 Heater - Don't mount it horizontallyOlympian heaters are advertised as being suitable for both vertical and horizontal installation. However, I've been working on installing an Olympian Wave heater in my trailer and, after mounting it horizontally, couldn't get it to work. After doing some Google searches I found an Open Roads posting, which, in part, includes the following sentence: "Camco specifies that Wave 6 and Wave 8 heaters can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, while the Wave 3 can only be mounted in the vertical position." The poster also had problems with his Wave 6 in the horizontal position. Although this contradicts the mounting instructions and everything else I've found online, it appears to be the case since mine works perfectly when mounted vertically. I'm posting this so that others don't spend the fruitless hours I spent troubleshooting my installation. Thanks to terryrey for his posting that confirmed my suspicions. Terry's posting can be found here: http://forums.woodalls.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/26832526.cfmNorth America loopWe're planning a 2-month (? - retired with no commitments) loop tour from Sacramento, across to and up/down the eastern coast, including parts of southern Canada. We've done the Southwest and up the west coast, although we don't mind going up or down the west coast again (our kids live in Seattle area). We've done Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley. We're use to dry camping in state parks, but don't mind occasional upscale parks, too, especially near cities. Definitely want to hit the Smithsonian. Any suggested routes? Places to be sure to see? Time of year to do trip? Ways to plan. Thanks.Re: CELL PHONE INTERNET ACCESSGood news! I see that Verizon has dropped the fee for the Mobile Broadband Connect feature to $49.95/mo (from $59.95), still with the 5GB/mo "limit" ($.05/MB thereafter). Both the monthly fee and the data limit are prorated if you use it for less than a full month. I'm using it right now from a campground near Fort Bragg, CA.Re: CELL PHONE INTERNET ACCESS clinthia wrote: I'm connected via Verizon and it's working just great. Clint Congratulations!
