All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Jayco Aluminum structureThanks for the tip. I did locate a Jayco users group and joined up to ask the same question there. I don't have a Jayco but may be interested if I can find the aluminum structure option. I will leave both sites active and when I hopefully get the answer I need I will post it on both to end the inquiry.Jayco Aluminum structureI know that Jayco stopped making the all aluminum structure in 2003 or 2004. I'm interested in buying an older Jayco 5th wheel and much prefer the all aluminum structure. Does anybody know which models/years they made the all aluminum structure? When I say "Aluminum structure", I'm referring to all six sides with aluminum studs 16" on center. Is there something in the model number that would indicate the aluminum structure? Did all Jayco models have it? I have searched all available sites I can think of and can't find any information.Re: Ram 1500 V-6I just checked my window sticker and my truck was ordered with the 3.55 rear end ratio. It is also 4wd. CT51 - It looks like we have about the same truck. Do you know what the empty weight is of your truck?.....just curious.Ram 1500 V-6We've been towing a variety of RVs with a variety of trucks for the past 20 years. A couple of years ago we decided the economic picture indicated its time to pull the plug on our RV lifestyle so we sold the F-350 Diesel and 34' Silverback 5th wheel. Then we decided maybe we could kinda still do a little camping so we bought a Chev 2500 and used Travel trailer. That was a switch because we always had a 5th wheel but it worked just fine. Last year we decided we really have to quit so we sold out again and bought a 2014 Ram 1500 with a gas V-6 for my daily driver. The gas mileage is fantastic (I have done over 30mpg). Now we're thinking maybe we can just buy another older used travel trailer and at least use it to go visit my kids in another state and maybe one or two other shorter trips. This truck was never intended by us to be used for towing but it comes equipped with a built-in brake controller and 7-pin trailer plug. It has an 8-speed transmission and 3.23 (I think....lowest one whatever that is)rear-end. The book says I should be able to pull 5,000 empty and 7,000 gross. The truck is what it is without any chance (or desire) to upgrade. Is there anybody out there that has any experience, or know of anybody else pulling any kind of a camper with this truck? Will this transmission hold up pulling a travel trailer?Re: Fix crack in shower wallI think my wall is plastic, not fiberglass. I'm not familiar with a lot of the repair stuff but is there something that will stick to a wall while drying? Everything I read about requires making kind of like a puddle and let it dry....how do I do that on the side of a wall?Fix crack in shower wallWe bought a used 2007 Suunybrook Brookside 5th wheel this spring from a private party out of town. Today I discovered a crack in the side of the shower stall. It is near the bottom, a clean break, parallel to the floor, and about 6" long coming out from both sides of a plastic wall fastener for a total 12" length. I would like to make it look good but I don't think that's going to happen. I would at this point just patch it and make it water-proof. I can't get at the backside of it. Any ideas how I can patch this shower wall crack? Moved to Tech Issues forum from DIY. Fix crack in shower wallThis topic has been moved to another forum. I think I'd have a good chance of putting a bandaid on the problem if I could just get a chance to see it. The weather seems to be shifting in my favor for a couple of days so its well worth taking a look. Thanks KenRe: Slide won't come inSLIDE IS IN!!! Thanks for all your input. I was able to round up some help and while wife pushed the button we were able to push the slide in. It pushed rather easily so I'm assuming something is no longer connected for whatever reason. At least now I can take it to the shop and they can put it into a heated shop to repair it. I will make one final post when I get the repair completed so others can see the cause and solution which is so extremely helpful on this web site. If the underbelly was not covered I probably could do something with the repair myself or at least try. The RV repair shop said they usually just cut an opening in the underbelly cloth for the repair. Then they use a special high grade tape to repair the underbelly. No matter what, the repair is going to be a lot easier when the temp is > 15 degrees.....and ZERO wind. Thanks again for all the replies KenSlide won't come inI have a 2005 Sunnybrook Titan 27FKS, one slide. I moved the slide out about a week ago to show to a perspective buyer. It now has been sold and I attempted to bring the slide back in. One side of the slide is completely normal...moves up a little and then tries to come in. The motor runs with no abnormal sounds. The side closest to the back appears to be stuck. I went around the rubber on the outside to make sure nothing was wedged preventing movement. I place a jack with boards under the side of the Slide (not the rail) and lifted it about 3/4". The temp has been single digits for a few nights now but the slide lifted easily with no obvious indication of something frozen. Fortunately/unfortunately it has an enclosed underbelly so I can't see anything. I would be one extremely happy camper if I could just get the slide back in so I could take it to my dealer. Anybody have any suggestions?????
