All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Electrical Outlet issues As Grit_dog said, you have no AC power. All those working things are DC powered. And all of the other responses are nonsensical. The adapter (aka Dog Bone) used to connect 50 to 30 amp splits the incoming single 30 amp power leg into two legs which feed both sides of the circuit breaker panel. Granted it isn't a full 100 amps (50 amp on each leg x two legs), but enough to run all the devices (just not all at the same time). The manufacturers, the infamous Old World's Craftsmen, are not concerned about wiring the "important" circuits to one side of the power panel. They put them wherever they want avoiding an obvious power demand overload on one leg (i.e. 2 A/Cs, electric water heater, and microwave would be a no-no). Re: How to remove bedroom small window valence? Montana RVs use screws in the corners under a flap of valance fabric. It looks like the valance is fitted between the cabinets. I would look for screws there. I would not pry the valance off the wall until I had fully checked everywhere for screws. Remove the drapery and peel off the Pleather down to bare wood if necessary. Re: What Happened to the Unread Posts Function? Solved???? I guess I don't understand. You wrote "We're working on bringing this feature back." The "Unread Posts" function is still not working. Saying it will be fixed it in the future is NOT a solution. Knock, Knock, Is Anybody Home? There are at least three Posts about the lack of notification/explanation, either before or after, of the recent forum format change. the loss of Signatures, and the valued Unread Post feature. Yet there has been no response from the Community Managers. IMHO these changes have rendered this forum unusable. I am pretty sure I am not alone. THe good news is there are other forums I can visit to learn and share RV information. SolvedRe: Are signatures supposed to be gone? Yet another new feature???? Re: What Happened to the Unread Posts Function? Me too! I don't care about the groupings and categories, I just want to see what is new. Regardless of where it was posted. Re: Hwy 26 and Hwy 97 into Bend Huh? Bend, OR is not on I5. It is east of I5 on Hwy-97. And Hwy-26 only goes east from Bend. Hwy-97 is a major truck route and is fine for your toy hauler. Feb, is winter and both I5 and Hwy-97 can be affected by rain and snow (fire in the summer). Watch the road conditions. Re: Safest Route Tucson, AZ to Brookings, Or. 580 is a full blown freeway around San Francisco. It can be busy but no concern about driving a big RV on it. The option is 101 through the West Bay and downtown San Francisco. That will be more of a white-knuckle experience for sure. Re: Route Advice I assume you forgot the portion on I-15 north of SLC is only until Tremonton where you connect again to Hwy-84 to Ontario. We have done traveled the Bend to Hwy-80 East of SLC portion of this part of your route numerous times We are pulling a 40' 5th wheel and had zero issues. I recall a couple of grades northeast of SLC but nothing traumatic. Re: I-5 to 101 Where in southern OR are you? My preference would be to get over to Hwy-101 as soon as practical (I dislike i-5). North of Eugene take Hwy-146 to Florence and Hwy-101. If you are above Cottage Grove take Hwy-38 through Drain to Reedsport and Hwy-101. Just south of Roseburg take the road through Dillard to the Coos Bay area connection to Hwy-101. I have done all of these with my 40' 5th wheel. Next opportunity is Hwy-199 out of Grants Pass. After that you are in CA and Hwy-299 at Redding is the 1st chance to get over to Hwy-101. I would consider going around San Francisco and not driving Hwy-101 through there. Hwt-101 goes right through S.F. and has heavy traffic. I have done with the RV but city driving doesn't bother me that much. I love Hwy-101 from WA to CA.
