The protective canvas and insulation is obviously very wet and heavy for approx. 24 inches from the front corner directly under the side access hatch. There are no signs of water damage or water stains anywhere inside the cubby including the flooring of the cubby. I do have some seam cracks which need to be filled as you will see in the following web link to some pictures I took. I also punctured a small hole in the canvas as you will see to confirm if there was a pool of sitting water but I see now its the insulation which is wet, heavy, and not drying. The wood beam running along the bottom edge is apparently soft as well. The side sheeting seems fine and undamaged in any way. You will see the seams along the cubby are definitely in need of some new sealant and water could be getting in at the top edge or also from the front nose seams which you can also see in the pics however as mentioned there is no water damage anywhere else I can find. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. http://imgur.com/a/3HHag#0Re: Diamond Plate Trailer NoseThanks for the tips guys, I think I'll hunt around for a 'White' aerosol can version and give that a try.Re: Spare tire or notI agree, if there is one thing you want to cram into the storage locations would be a spare tire for both the RV and the TV! :)Fiberglass TT - Chalky Look - Wax Recommendations?Hi all, with our 2002 TT with smooth fiberglass outer finish on all sides I have noticed it to be looking fairly chalky white on the surface. Is there any way to bring back that shiny gloss finish utilizing a typical paste wax? I have tried 'Rejex' and did not have much luck. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!Trailer Brakes - Basic things to check?Good day all, I'm pulling out the TT for another week vacation soon and thought I'd pull each wheel off for an inspection on the brakes. They have been working fine but for peace of mind I'd appreciate some tips on the basic procedure and what to look for once I pull the tires off the rig. Any pictures would be a great help as well! :)Re: Help me choose a generatorI had the exact same question a few weeks ago and decided on the 2000 Honda due to the slight higher cost and weight. I believe it was the right choice as it does add the extra flexibility. Love it so far! I don't believe you can go wrong with either unit.Re: Diamond Plate Trailer NoseHow did you guys fasten the diamond plate to the RV? Also if you have a fiberglass front how would you suggest fastening? Does anyone have any other ideas other than diamond plate for protecting the front end of TT's? Spray Rock guard perhaps?Re: Newbie to Generators - Best method to charge RV BatteryFor an update I took many people advice and went with the 2000 Watt Honda genny. It is a little larger and heavier to pack around and probably a little louder but I believe it was a good choice. Not to mention the few hundred dollars additional cost! :) Appreciate everyone's feedback. Regards, BobRe: Newbie to Generators - Best method to charge RV BatteryThanks for the feedback thus far. The converter on my RV is a 45amp at 12vdc, 7.5 amps at 120VAC input. Also mentions charge rate 5 amps on the label. The Honda EU1000iKC2 says in the specs max rated 7.5 amps at 120VAC and DC output amps at 6.5amps at 12vdc. This seems like enough for my purposes of general battery charging and emergency situations when no AC available to power lights, and water pump use and maybe the furnace on occasion. I really wanted to make the smallest, lightest, quietest Genny work for my planned use. And of course the cost aspect! :)Newbie to Generators - Best method to charge RV BatteryGood day all, I'm new to the generator scene and I'm thinking of picking up a Honda 1000W unit this week for an upcoming haul into the wilderness without AC available. My question is how to top up the charge on the RV battery using my new generator when the time comes? I assume simply plug my RV into the AC output on the generator just as I would when parked at home to charge up the battery using the RV's converter? Any tips would be appreciated so I go about this the right way! :) Thanks!
