It gets busy during the cooler months.Re: What are your favorite state parks to camp? profdant139 wrote: My vote would be Kodachrome Basin State Park, in Utah -- in almost any other state, it would be a national park: Wow that's beautiful. How hard is it to get a reservation?Re: What are your favorite state parks to camp?Georgia: Amicalola Falls State Park - great waterfall! Black Rock Mountain State Park - highest elevation of any state park in GA. Great way to beat the summer heat!Re: What are your favorite state parks to camp? rv2go wrote: Fall Creek Falls State Park, Tennessee Cumberland Falls State Park, Kentucky Silver Falls State Park, Washington, Ainsworth State Park, Oregon I see a pattern here....Water Falls. We love waterfalls! Any state park with a waterfall is good with us!What are your favorite state parks to camp?In our many years as tent campers, we have often stayed in state parks. I'd love to hear your favorites and why. Also name the state where it is located. Here are a few of mine Minnesota: Gooseberry Falls State Park - beautiful park on the north shore of Lake Superior with amazing views of a great waterfall. Judge CR Magney State Park - the farthest north park with camping on the north shore of Lake Superior. Less busy than the parks closer to Duluth. Great waterfalls! More states later!Re: Do I need a weight distribution hitch? KD4UPL wrote: According to the sticker on the hitch you need it. According to the reality of pulling that trailer with that truck there's no way you need one. I would simply change out the factory hitch for one that is rated to carry more tongue weight without a WDH. Then you will be within all the ratings, have a stronger hitch, and not have to deal withe the big heavy WDH. I'm intrigued by this suggestion. I pull an enclosed cargo trailer once a week that weighs 8,000 lbs and I don't use a WDH. I've never had a problem but maybe I should upgrade the receiver as I'm sure I'm overloading the factory one.Re: Do I need a weight distribution hitch?I guess dealer was just trying to make an extra sale. He swore up and down I needed one. It didn't pass my smell test but wanted to make sure.Do I need a weight distribution hitch?Hey everyone. First post here. My wife and I are considering getting off the ground and trading the old tent in for a hybrid travel trailer. We are looking at the 23' Rockwood Roo. My tow vehicle is a 2002 Ford F-250 crew cab long bed 4x4 with camper package and 7.3 diesel. I have towed boats all my life but have never used a weight distribution hitch. Will I need one for this trailer? Dry weight is only around 4,500 lbs. thanks for the help as we learn before we buy!
