But I believe it went to a nonworking cell phone. I'll see if I can find another number for them..Re: HELP - I need to find this valve and rebuild kits.UPDATE: I'm away for days on end and today I'm back at my computer. I want to thank those trying to help. Please keep the info coming. A good friend who's valve I used in the pictures is also looking for one. IF you look closer at the first pic - you can see the place where the hand crank goes it stripped out. Marie and I own six of these coaches and they all need to be restored. FYI - I've tried a lot of things. I sent an email with pictures and spoke with Valterra. I did the same with Vintage Trailer Supply, I was even on the phone with them while they looked at the pics. I called and wrote a couple big vintage trailer restoration companies. BTW - I found the R and G company a while ago and they are not the same company who made those valves years ago. I've been told by a third party that GSR - who's stamp is on the valve is no longer in business and has not been for years. However, I have not found if or when they went out of business, or if they simply changed their name. But then again I have no clue. Signed I wish we could use the newer style gate valve. GRIN Thanks again. Sincerely, TonyRe: What are you fixing up/restoring? Pre 1971 only PleaseHere is an interior shot of UV256 standing behind the coach looking through the hatch. Here is a closeup shot of the Corvair engine in UV256 also looking through the back hatch. Re: What are you fixing up/restoring? We purchased our first RV in 2008. Its a Rare one at that. They are called Ultravans or Ultra Vans. Once the Doctor told Marie that she would be able to walk again without aid of canes and/or a walker we wanted to be able to work towards our goal of traveling and camping throughout USA and Canada in an RV. Here is the first one purchased in the spring of 2008. UV248 being unload, the summer of 2008, in our driveway in Canada. And here is the second one we purchased, later that summer, from the same owner as the first. We plan to use for its interior to be able to restore the first coach. This is what it takes to transport one of these. This coach sat for more than 28 years before we purchased it. One year after we were blessed to have it I got it running and took it to shows. I still need to restore it. The 2nd one also has body damage. However, being a retired mechanic I hate waste or s c r a p the 2nd coach. I've always planned to customize it. In less than two year of owning the 2nd one I purchased the donor vehicle that I plan to use for the conversion. Marie and I like the history and love the look of these Ultravans so much that we decided to buy one of each series made and have a small museum. We have since purchased a much smaller house, but with a lot more land than the last property; so we have enough space to build a barn for a shop and display are. Once the coaches have been restored we plan to use each and every one of them as they were meant to be used and enjoyed. Our hope is to raise funds for Habitat and Hospice with our little museum and hold car shows, once every 3 to 5 years, on our 154 farm. What are you fixing up? Please only post Pre 1971 Motor-homes and Trailers. Re: HELP - I need to find this valve and rebuild kits. Thanks Lynnmor. That is an idea should we not be able to find replacements. BTW - This all started off with another Ultravan member/owner in need of replacing the valve shown in the pictures. Then I went to look under 2 of our LM coaches and found that I too should be concerned; when it comes time to fixing the plumbing. Hard to use the plumbing if your dump valves are not in working order. GRINRe: HELP - Who made this valve and I'm looking for new ones too.FYI - Donn I did see that post before posting a thread here. Thanks again, TonyRe: HELP - Who made this valve and I'm looking for new ones too.Newman thank you. I sent them an email. Donn Thanks! I will check the other post. BTW - I posted here under VINTAGE for those into the older/rare coaches and in the other or General for those who don't bother coming to the VINTAGE threads. I'm using what I learned in my marketing classes in college = I'm trying to reach a wider target market as fast as possible to help ensure I find what I need ASAP. Without this valve we LM Ultravan owners can not use our plumbing until we can fix this problem. Another Ultravan owner is in need and has been looking too and the Mrs and I have a couple of these coaches to restore. Thank you again.HELP - Who made this valve and I'm looking for new ones too.Hello Everyone, I'm looking for a hard to find (maybe even outdated) blade/knife valve. It was used in two of our 60's coaches. I'm trying to find out who made them and if anyone still offers them. The control handle is not 90degs from the pipe as the newer blade/gate/knife valves are. It runs the direction of the pipe in which the valve is installed on and you rotate the lever to open and close the valve. I found: GSR Sun Valley, Calif., Part #3904 and tested/approved by: IAPMO which is inside the shape of an armed shield all of which is stamped on the valve. Thank you for your help.Re: HELP - I need to find this valve and rebuild kits.Thank you.
