Shims are installed between the axle and spring allowing greater adjustments for caster. The cutaway chassis (E450, E350) use bushing in the ball joint which can only go to a little over 5 degrees caster. The aftermarket 2 piece bushing can only adjust to 2.5 degrees caster.Re: Couple of questions...I worked with a local driveline shop to fix my 50 to 60 mph vibration problem Here is the list of suggestions I followed to find the problem: Put the rear axle on jack stands and in gear run the engine to the speed it vibrates. Remove rear axles, retest, remove each driveline until vibration goes away. Results were: the forward driveline extended by Gulfstream was not straight. I was told this is not an uncommon problem. Also tires will vibrate from sitting for long periods until they warm up after driving for some miles.Re: air bag install 30' BT CruiserI think I have the picture insert figured out.Re: air bag install 30' BT CruiserI have the upside down leaf spring and spring stack is higher than in your picture. I only have about 4" from the spring plate to the top of the frame rail. My rv is a 2005.air bag install 30' BT CruiserI am considering rear air bag install on my e450 and I noticed the exhaust pipe close to the right rear spring. Does anyone have a picture of the right rear air bag? It doesn't appear the bag would have enough clearance or the heat from the exhaust could ruin the bag.Re: 2015 Coachman 32 ' driveshaft vibration ( help)I also had a floor vibration about 52mph that I fixed last year. This is the process that the driveline repair shop had me do to find the cause. If you are uncomfortable then Les Schwab will be glad to do it. Test each following conditions at the vibration speed: 1. Rear axle on jack stands. 2. In gear and note speed at vibration. 3. Unbolt rear axle flanges pull axles out to disengage from diff. 4. Remove rear drive shaft. 5. Remove center drive shaft. 6. Remove forward drive shaft. Stop. If you still have a vibration it could be the park brake assembly damaged or engine has problems. My problem was when the frame was extended the forward driveshaft was improperly lengthened and was out of round.Re: E-450 ViberationHi I am new to this forum but I just got finished fixing my 31' BT Cruiser E450 vibration problem at 45mph. I did some checks directed by my local driveline repair shop.Any one area can cause it. Jack stands under rear axle and ran to 45, nope. Removed axle shafts run to 45,still vibrates, remove rear drive shaft, no luck, center drive shaft, no luck, front shaft remove, no vibration.Sent 3 drivelines to repair shop. Common problem when frame is extened the front shaft is lengthened poorly. Also checked joints and center brgs. all good.
