I'm happy for Oreo that she has a secure future, and I'm hoping Timmy can find another dog to which he can become attatched. That would surely make the story have a happy ending. Life is sometimes hard...but there are happy moments to make up for the bad. ChuckRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}This is almost as bad as Oreos and no milk!Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}I guess with Suzie, the old addage isn't correct, anything goes. I love the "she plastic surgery"! I know that I have found strange things, shall we say, left in the yard. The DW removes her makeup with a special towel. I find those regularly in the yard, along with what I think once were kleenexs. We really have to guard our trash containers. In the bedroom, our container sits on a chair so it will not be an offering as a midnight feast. We call our girls the four-legged stomachs.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Richard, is Suzie on the mend, did her appitite come back? I sure pray Oreo finds a wonderful home like her mom did. I just know she will, with you on the search. ChuckRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Sorry for the double post!Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Shelby and my Grandma (dog) Sadiee look like twins. Very happy she now has a good forever home. And I hope her beautiful daughter is right behind her in finding a forever home. My girls eat grass and throw up once in awhile, definately a dog thing. I would not worry about a dog being off their feed for a day or two, as someone mentioned they're always eating who knows what. When tummy gets settled she will eat with a vengence. ChuckRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}My grandpa in Upper Michigan had a big red three legged dog. I spent several summer vacation as a youth enjoying this wonderful animal. there was nothing that this dog couldn't do that a four legged animal could do. he could climb up and down the ladder into the hay loft and run for miles. His name was Chummy, and Chummy was my shadow all summer. I had a couple friends on the next farm and Chummy would lead all our expeditions into the wildeness woods across the road. He sure would make you wonder why dogs came with four as three worked as well for him. Here's to the courage of three legged dogs and the successful recovery of this Golden. Been quiet for awhile, was in the hospital for a week. On the mend now. Can't stay in a hospital for too long. All those doctors will make you sick. LOL ChuckRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}I'll be with you also, doing you know what. The reason this thread keeps alive is because we are animal lovers, both of the human kind and the furry kind. And as animal lovers we feel each others joy and each others pain. Old Fella, and the Daniels family are more important to most of us than are RV's, and the work being done to help these poor wouldbe lost animals is in my mind the most important thing that is happening on this web site. There are plenty of wonderful threads on the site, and we can enjoy them also. Get well OF and Rchard! And thank you RV.net for allowing us to gather. ChuckRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Oh Richard, tried to go camping over MLK holiday. Too cold here in So Cal. One camper's water hose frooze. We bailed out Sunday morning, too cold to walk dogs. A little warmer today and nice and warm in the house. Best to you and glad some sight returning. You are in our prayers and hope your talk went well. Chuck, Linda and the girlsRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}A friend of ours Snauser (sp) ate a pair of her knee high hose and left some strange leavings in the yard. They are like babies, and will try to eat anything. You can be sure my hearing aides aren't left out. $$$ Another reason not to have toxic plants in the yard. Chuck
