We are leaving later than i wanted but it is what it is. Any advice?CG reservations required? ALCAN / AlaskaHow busy is it this time of year? Do i need to make reservations a couple of days in advance or can i just "wing it" and show up at convenient CGs? Interested in CGs along ALCAN In Alaska, what is Homer, anchorage, denali like for reservations? Last I visited reservations were not needed but that was a long time agoCoach manufacturers under one million dollars?I have a country coach 2008 that was a custom built. It was not on a prevost but on the CC chassis. I really like the coach and still enjoy it after 10 years.. but it is getting old to me and technology is moving forward.. I dont need to spend a lot of money to bring it current but I am debating between spending the money to update my coach or buy a new one. I really would like to buy a new coach. But I am not finding anything like the custom country coaches of 10 years ago where it would be an "upgrade" without paying bus prices. Is there something better without going to a two million dollar bus? It is like there is this void.. you can find lots of choices at 200-250k and these manufacturers make high end coaches up to 500k and then it jumps to 2 million. I dont mind a preowned unit but it needs to be just a year or two old.. so if there are coaches for 1.5 million new we know they probably sell for 1.2 and used might be 800k. But I see new Liberty advertised for 2.8 (wow!) and other buses out there are just astronomical. At what temp do you remove water hose?If the overnight low is 28F or 30F do you really disconnect the water hose outside? I am doing it now but am wondering if i am being abundantly cautious. At what temp do you disconnect outdoor plumbing while staying in the rig?lots of rust on 2008 country coach affinity chassisI have lots of rust on my country coach. If it was one area i would just deal with it myself but it is all over.. the coach looks great but when you open the bay doors you can see the rust on the bottom (underside) of the chassis. of course, if you poke your head under the coach it is pretty bad too. What is the best way to tackle this professionally? do i go to a paint shop or how do i find someone to fix this? I dont want to spend a fortunate but i would be happy to spend a couple thousand dollars if it takes care of this problem. Can anyone recommend a shop in las vegas or recommend how i go about finding someone to do this? is it realistic to fix this for $2000 or $3000 or am i looking at a nightmare in terms of expense?Re: 2008 allegro bus changed out king dome for weigand t4Here is what i did— Add Apple TV to each TV Bought Direct TV NOW. I have netflix, hulu, amazon prime video i use st home Cell plan has unlimited data Now i get satellite, netflix, hulu everything just like home.. anywhere on the road. One small remote controls everything. I have a 2008 coach. Dont try to duplicate 10 yesr old technology? Throw out DVD player, old ipod dock, etcRe: How fast do you drive your Class A?Depends on conditions. Bumpy rosd—slower. Very windy—slower. In ideal interstate conditions I like to go speed limit + 5-10mph to keep up with traffic. Off interstate — speed limit. I’d like to go slowerr and enjoy but I know the feeling driving a car behind a slow MH.Re: Sticky hydraulic levelersOn our previous coach which had hydraulic levelers I would spray silicone on them before retracting. It was generally the same one or two levelers that would get stuck. This always worked. Eventually I got tired of doing that and had the springs changed and that solved it permanently. Get stronger springs and put this one behind you.Re: Selecting a Diesel Pusher Coach for Full-TimingIf you are going to full-time, get a 45' with 4 slides. Otherwise you are going to regret not having the space. 90k is doable. Buy a 10 year old MH that was 250-300k in 2006-2007 (MSRP might have been up to 400k but they discounted well at time of purchase). Maybe you need to pay up to 100k but you will be very happy in my opinion.Re: Good Black flush "trick" or bad idea? bigred1cav wrote: Please explain, for we novice, how to use the valve to flush black tank? rv2go wrote: TNGW1500SE wrote: When dumping my tanks, I've got a new "trick". I don't like your "trick" I find it a lot safer using this. Also when dry camping, I can divert gray water into the Black tank. Thus extending my stay several days as the Black tank seldom fills. That valve goes right to the sewer hose. So to drain black you would need to open your black and then open that valve in the picture. If you wanted to mix your tanks you would close that valve and open your grey and black. To flush black you would drain your black completely, hopefully have a full grey, then close that valve, open both black/grey and (assuming black and grey were same capacity) half of your grey goes into the black tank. Now you have some nice soapy water in your black tank. This has plus and minus.. plus is soapy water would clean better.. minus is that the soap residue can get on the sensors. I tried this method and found my sensors are now off. I saw no benefit doing it. But give it a try if you have some issue with odors and black tank that cannot get clean and needs to be.
