I swear, I have seen responses on here to "Get 2 6 volts" when the OP asked about what color trailer to buy. As long as one piles on with "Honda", "Allison", or "Hensley" the crowd will accept and approve.Re: Where have all the members gone on this forum? This forum has done little to improve itself in the past ten years. The snarky responses qnd the boiler plate comments are turn offs. We all know where most of the replies are headed before they get posted. "Honda is good", "Harbor Freight is bad", "Chinese tires are only good for stqrting fires", "Do a search, we have talked about this before". That, plus a couple of moderqators who think they are above reproach ensures less participation. I find brand specific forums a lot more friendly and usable. But that's just me.Re: What size generator to run AC?? supercub wrote: Looking at buying a +/-28 foot travel trailer, with one AC unit. What size generator should I have to run the AC and lights, TV, etc? Thanks To supercub. Most RV parks and your trailer have 30 amp ratings. 30 X 120 = 3,600 watts. That is what I shoot for if I want the same capability as the shore power in most parks.Thermal Glue ApplicationThe spring clip that holds the thermostat to the tank on my water heater is failing. Would thermal glue work to hold it in place and what brand would you recommend?Re: Where are all of the snowbirds?Parks in the RGV (Rio Grande Valley of Texas) appear to be less full every year for the last ten. Aged group is not being replenished by young. Five years ago there were three sold out Saturday night dances within five miles of Alamo, Texas. Now there is one. Younger people dance. Older stay in the Midwest and have foot surgery. The way the world works.Nuevo Progreso Welcome Back Winter TexansThursday, December 9, 2021. Always a good time.Re: Help buying a small travel trailerI have had several entry level travel trailers and the Jaycos have been the best. I currently have a 212QB and a 174bh, The 174bh would probably work for you.Re: Rio Grande ValleyMore people wearing masks at Alamo Walmart than one might expect, However, any national map showing infections highlights the RGV. I would hope that a combination of hygiene and vaccinations will prevailRe: Any RV parks left in RGV? fixn2gocamp wrote: ...snip... Update: However, the "rv resorts/parks" are mostly old, tired and 90% mobile homes. Some were neat and clean, others just scary. All friendly. Have found a couple that would do for a short time, but most are slide to slide. Rates good, but again, tired. ...snip...?. BINGO! The RGV is cheap, windy, dirty, tired, but cheap. As far as Rockport or anything north of there, one is giving up 5-10 winter degrees by going 200 miles north. Makes a huge difference in January/February.Re: TraileringOne of my fellow employees likes to travel with 55 gallon of "Company" gasoline when he leaves town. More "convenient" for some of us to fill up with deductible fuel when RVing. Ed could get to Florida on "free" gasoline when not towing.
