Calling Camping World and Banks Engineering in the AM.Banks Exhaust System CracksHas anyone had the banks Exhaust system crack? While having service performed at Redlands Rv, they noticed a hairline crack in one of the exhaust pipes. Interested in hearing from anyone with a similar problem. Thanks, DarrylRe: Michelin XRV Tires Where are they?Have had the Michelin XRV's on my last two motorhomes. First set was 5 years old when I sold the RV and were in good shape. My second RV I bought in 2011. It is a 2005 and had original Michelin XRV 235-80R 22.5's and lasted another year before I replaced them due to normal sidewall cracking after they were 9 years old! Have heard positive reviews on Toyos and Hankooks, but will stick with Michelins. Sidewall cracking is normal in RV tires as they do sit for long periods of time and are exposed to the sun, especially if you live in sunny territory. (I live in So Cal!) FMCA has a program with Michelin and national tire retailers where you save hundreds of dollars and have nationwide service, if you need it. Happy Trails! ;)Re: Need tires for 98 rexhall aerbusJoin FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) Great organization with many benefits, least of all discounts at RV parks. Also, there is the FMCA/Michelin Tire Program. You save lots of money on tires for your RV and they are mounted by professionals, nationwide. Any problems, you are not far from help.Re: Good SamI had Coach Net for the past 4 years, and service was excellent. Good Sam offered a better deal, so I signed up with them this time. Been watching GS and reviews have been very positive since Marcus Lemonis took over GS & Camping World. We left the rear hatch slightly open on the Saturn and battery was deader than a doornail! I have an app on my smart phone for Godd Sam ERS and it gave me the number, called and they had all my info. They contacted local service and texted me their name, phone number and ETA. Showed up in half the time, jumped battery and off we went. So far, so good! I still would not have much work done at CW as I keep hearing horror stories about their seeming incompetence. Also have a local RV service that is excellent. Happy Trails!Re: 19.5 versus 22.5 tiresMurphy, First, when posting questions about your RV, you should give as many details about it as possible. I did check your profile and see you have a 2012 Winnebago, which means it is on the Ford chassis, which is notorious for poor handling. Size of tires is not the issue, chassis instability is! The suggestions to check front-end alignment and weight, you will probably benefit from anti=sway bars up front and rear stabilizers. I do not know of the shops in Minnesota, so a posting getting recommendations for a shop in your area would help. You can also check the FMCA website and list of authorized suspension centers nearby. Happy Trails! ;)Re: Bilstein shocksBilstein may be discontinuing a model, but not the whole line. I understand they just came out with a new model that has improved gas struts. Koni FSD's have a good reputation as well. I am unaware of a brand specific shock for RV use. Happy Trails! ;)Re: Mount Rushmore National ParkI suggest you stay at a nearby RV park and drive your towed car to and from Mt. Rushmore. We stayed at Rafter J Bar Ranch in Hill City and visited Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Ellsworth Air Base just outside of Rapid City. There are several other RV parks in the vicinity. Happy Trails! ;)Jantzen Beach RV ParkWe just left Jentzen Beach RV Resort in Portland, OR. It is rated by Good Sam as 9.5/10/9.5. I would give it a 8 for clean restrooms, amenities offered. I would give it a 7 for RV sites, as they are not evenly spaced. Worst rating would be for lack of enthusiastic welcome and failure to inform us of what does and does not work! Billed as free WiFi, pool, cable tv. WiFi service in our section was down and had been down for a week, according to a neighbor. Cable TV? You need a converter box to receive signals. Erika, who checked us in, did NOT tell us about the need for the converter box, nor did she inform us at check-in that the WiFi was down. She was efficient, but lacking in any welcoming manner. No, "Welcome to Jantzen Baech". No smile! Although I understand that this is the Pacific Northwest, we did not know the pool was not open until arrival. The incurable defect, however is, the park sits RIGHT UNDER THE FLIGHT PATH OF THE AIRPORT! Jets taking off all day and all night. Ubiquitous train tracks a block or two away. My rating for this park is, if you can stay somewhere else, do so! Will NEVER come back here again. Darryl
