I think that would be a hard pull. I use to have the same set up and pulling up a little mountain here in Virgina could be a strain. I traded for a 2500HD with a 6.0 and a 410 gear. Pulls a lot easier with less strain on the motor, transmission and rear end. I thinks it is better to have more truck and less camper. Just my opinion I'm sure there will be those who disagree.Re: Bike racks jfkmk wrote: We installed a front hitch for that purpose. That's where ours go. truck bed is full of other stuffBike racksAnyone have any good ideas on a bike rack, need one that will hold two bicycles. I have heard good things about one that bolts to the A-Frame and I have also been told that the ones that fit the back bumper can cause problems. The one that bolts to the A-Frame I'm guessing would hold the bikes over the LP tanks. Any thoughts?Faith restoredAfter a couple of bad years of camping in very bad campgrounds in far away places my faith has been restored. Found a nice place with very friendly folks and nice Full hook ups, which is what we prefer. The name of the place is Shenandoah Family Campground. The best part is, it is only about a hour and a half from our house. Rates are very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My seven year old daughter had a blast. Made reservations for October as soon as we got home. In fact we would go back sooner , but time will not allow it. Nothing like sitting around a campfire roasting hotdogs and marsh mallows with a child, that's what good memories are made of.Re: Cover for electric tongue jack?I made a cover out of a small plastic trash can. I even put three hooks inside if it. Two are for safety chains and brake away cable and one for electrical plug. Works very well and cheap to make.Re: lighting the oven VoodooMedicineMan wrote: If this is the first time baking in this oven don't forget to put a pizza stone or some other heat distributing stone on the bottom rack. If you do have a bypass installed then you should always want to drain water from hot water tank before you bypass it. What you're saying does not compute. I don't use the pink stuff in my water lines at all. I blow them out and leave the faucets open. I use the pink stuff in my sink and tub traps and in my holding tanks. I blow the water heater out also. What I was asking was , if leaving the petcock open was safe or do I need to remove the WHOLE DRAIN PLUG.Hot water drainI have the hot water plug with a drain cock in it like a car radiator has , if I leave the plug in and just open the drain cock is that good enough for the winter? I prefer not to use the pink stuff in the water heater.Re: installing 30 amp power at homeThanks guys and yes I got the message.
