That's odd. The inference that kids were that way when you were young? I was a kid once also and myself and my friends NEVER went around stealing other peoples' property. same. Of course, having a Dad with hands as big as your head (with room to spare) kinda keeps ya in-line. oh, and living in a 1000 person town helps. everyone KNOWS everyone and what's going on. Thievery only became a concern when baddies were showing up from out of town. grrr.Re: work and camping..Those are pretty nice, but none are sold around here. sigh...Re: First service Eco Diesel FishOnOne wrote: 2RR2NV wrote: I can't complain about my Chrysler dealer. free oil changes for life (actually getting another done next week). on year 6 so far. There's no such thing as a free lunch... And that goes for oil changes too. ummm.. ok. to each his own. guess I'm missing something. If you think we paid MSRP and that's how we got screwed, well, then you're wrong. Sure, they might have a made a few bucks on the deal, but a lot less than other folks. My wife made the deal and she is very tough on salesfolks. If you mean "hey you bought a vehicle" and even if you paid $1 for it, you're not getting anything free. well, yeah, I agree. So, I guess I don't understand your thought process. but what does it matter. I'm not spending more money to get maintenance done. that's a big WOOT in my book!!!Re: First service Eco DieselI can't complain about my Chrysler dealer. free oil changes for life (actually getting another done next week). on year 6 so far. You bought a new RAM! SAWEET!! GRATS! I went with the smaller CC because I don't really need/want a HUGE cabin. yes, they are nice, but I'd rather have a big bed. just me. Beautiful looking rig ya got. Enjoy for all it's worth. I can't wait to pull something big. First big load will probably be loading up the house and moving it all to the new house. WOOT!! then get a 5er down the road. Have fun! Scot "Z"Re: Type of truck Ranger Smith wrote: Also the difference between a SRW and a DRW can be as much as 7000lb difference in trailer weight. My DRW is good to pull a 22,800 lb trailer. Same model in a SRW is only 16,300. If it were me I think I would find the trailer I really wanted then get the truck to match the trailer. that's what we are doing. got the truck to fit the trailer. went a lil overboard but figured it was worth over the long haul. we figure we'll be upgrading campers down the road, so might as well get a truck that will handle anything... muhahahahahaRe: work and camping..well, we have decided that I'll get an apartment near work. But, we will be getting a 5er in 2016 no matter what because we really want the kids to experience the nation. we still have to buy a house next year so we gotta finance that more than anything else. THEN, we can work on the camper issue.Re: First service Eco Diesel NC Hauler wrote: 2RR2NV wrote: Obviously, taking a truck into the dealer is gonna ask for a butt-raping. Unless it's required, I do my own work. Yes, more oil is gonna cost more, and DEF at the dealer is a major rip. Truck stops are much cheaper but messier. I'd go with Amazon if I can get all my stuff and Amsoil for oil. Scot "Z". 2014 RAM 3500 DRW Big Horn. How do you figure truck stops are messier to fill up DEF:h..I fill up or top off at a truck stop about 5 miles from my house for $2.55 a gallon and have never had a mess or even spilled a drop of SWD...you sure you know how to do it?:) Much cheaper and really quite easy to do. guess I should have clarified better. as far as actually doing the process, not messy. but the handle/setup at local truck stop was ewwww gross (was checking it out just to see what it entails). I actually haven't had to do it to mine.... yet, but will soon. I will have to deal with it when the time comes unless I find another place with cleaner facilities. just me. some people could care less. me, I sometimes get a lil picky. I doubt I'll make a mess and spill anything. would be nice if some folks were less of a messmaker. I stayed in my travel trailer that I kept at a long term park full hookups. When it got too cold and things started freezing up I took the trailer home and rented a room at a motel. I would get 8 1/2 to 9 months in the TT. I saved so much money and wear and tear on my car and body that I could afford the room in the winter. I love being in the TT so much more than a room I could not wait for spring to come so I could get the TT out again. BTW you can write off the cost of the camping fees and meals on your income tax. NOT the cost of the RV however. jesseannie that sounds pretty cool, but then I'd have to pay for both the camper and a room during the winter months. OOOOOWWWW!!
