All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Wildfires and InsuranceI posted just to see if there was some commonality to our policies. Curiosity until I could get in touch with my agent. You're right, after considering the responses, this thread was useless.Wildfires and InsuranceWith all the wildfires going on and one very close to where I store my trailer ... Does the insurance we have on our trailers tend to cover fire? Does it cover fire damage loss from a wilfire? I know I have to get my policy and read it, but just curious what the trend seems to be.Re: Batteries for adult toy.First, I do not have temperature compensation ability as is. Second, let me twist the question a little bit. If I have one cranking battery and one deep cycle and my switch is set to both, is there a charging issue since they are different battery types?Batteries for adult toy.I've set up my boat for 2 batteries, one for starting and one for running the anchor light and radio when not underway. Since you are battery geniuses I thought I ask for opinions. It's time for new batteries so I'm wondering what would be better overall. Two starting/cranking batteries, using the second for the light/radio or 1 starting/cranking and 1 deep cycle rv/marine? The idea for the backup battery was to be sure I could start the boat after extended light/radio use. So that makes me lean toward the backup actually being another cranking/starting battery. Thoughts? ThanksRe: Walmart etiquette?Thought I posted this, but don't see it so ... I was at the WalMart in Rohnert Park and asked the security patrol if they no longer allowed overnighting. I asked because I didn't see any RV's or trailers in a lot that usually has many. He said they don't allow it anymore due to abuse. People were disconnecting the parking lot lights and using for their own power source and overstaying their welcome ... I don't know what the facts are, but that's what he told me. The absence of etiquette by some does not mean we are less obligated to practice etiquette, manners, consideration and the golden rule!Need to rent a tow vehicle.Ideas for renting a truck for some long distance (5 to 8 hour drives from home) towing of my trailer? Hertz Equipment Rentals has like a 100 mile range and said they would let me go to my local camp since there's a Hertz less than 100 from that location, but not so much for towing to Yosemite or Sequoia. My current ride has too many worry points to use it for those trips. Enterprise doesn't have trucks with towing packages and they say no to towing. Not ready to buy a new truck, but don't want to avoid long tows because of breakdown worry.Re: AAA and tow vehicle and trailerThese are all good points to consider and now I also need to check with State Farm to see what kind of towing coverage I might have with my auto insurance.Re: AAA and tow vehicle and trailerI guess I have some phone calls to make, AAA and Good Sam, and some detailed questions to ask tomorrow. Thanks.AAA and tow vehicle and trailerI'll call tomorrow, but maybe you already know the answer to this. When I tow my boat or trailer, what happens if the tow vehicle needs to be towed or the boat or trailer needs to be towed?Re: Walmart etiquette? tpi wrote: What I notice here is Walmart and other lots are posted no overnight. But it appears there are a few likely homeless in older RVs staying quite consistently. I've seen one particular RV for months at a time, but not always there and never in same spot. These are fairly upscale locations 15 miles from beach. The parking lots are not impacting residences, they're too far away. At least my impression the stores and law enforcement tolerate this as long as it doesn't get out of hand (mess, noise, complaints). The other thing I suspect is some of these so called homeless people are not fitting into the classic definition. They appear to have some income, and living a different lifestyle. I suspect some have state park annual pass and migrate to beach (or other park day use) by day and back to these lots for the night. I have to admit I hope I never need the skills but I've learned some survival tricks from observing our homeless. For the price of a monthly membership I have access to a gym for a daily shower, a sauna, a hot tub, a swimming pool, even a workout if I want one. With an annual membership I can day visit any park every day as long as I leave by end of business. ...
