Good to know - I like the cab-over bed that the Force has, but I was really looking at the DX3 because of the power of the 8.9. When did they start offering the Force HD? I don't even see anything on their website about it. I'll be watching this thread as well, it would be good hear from some current owners.Re: Jayco Seneca vs. dynamax force RoWest wrote: I will say that the purchase of our new 2014 Seneca 37FS in February 2015 has been one of the worst experiences of my life. An attractive price, great ride with good visibility and utility and an unending number of repairs and problems in the house portion. The latest from this Wednesday 8/26/15 at 11,000 miles are 2 wrinkles in the roof above the driver side rear tire about 18" apart from tweaking. Confirmed by the dealer not to have been an impact. In for service 45 days out of 200 since purchase. That's gotta be disappointing - I hope they get that straightened out for you. I had a few problems with my current Jayco fiver when I first bought it, but I had done a lot of reading on this forum and was kind of expecting it, sadly. Got it all fixed up and have had nearly 8 years of fun with it. Back to the question at hand - Seneca vs. Dynamax Force - I'm assuming a $300,000 Dynamax XL is a high quality vehicle. Does that quality carry over into their Force line?Re: Jayco Seneca vs. dynamax force dcason wrote: As the owner of a Jayco C, I wouldn't buy one again...I would go better quality. You don't have a Jayco Seneca though, do you? That's their high end Super C, so I'm guessing (hoping) that the quality would be better.Re: Onan dies in the HeatFuel pump. I have an Onan 5500, had an identical problem. Whenever it was hot enough, it would just quit. After it cooled down for a time, I could get it to start back up. On that trip I ended up pointing a small portable fan up at the bottom of the genny (right where the fuel pump is), and it stayed on long enough to get me through that trip. I replaced the fuel pump when I got home and haven't had the problem since.Re: How do you load/secure mororcycles? Photos?I use a rack from Bolt-It-On: http://www.boltiton.com/ I bought it 7 years ago and it still works great. IMHO, there's a few advantages over single wheel chocks: no drilling or permanent changes to the floor completely configurable - I never know how many bikes I might be hauling to the track dirtbikes and streetbikes easy to take out when not needed, or on location when extra sleeping space is needed Re: 2014 Seneca wheel size? Hey GL - we drove our new Seneca back from Florida over the weekend. Power was good overall, although it did slow noticeably on the steeper grades through VA / WVA. We maintained the speed limit for most of the trip (around 70), and although we did slow on the hills, we still passed most of the 18-wheelers. I haven't hooked up the toad yet - curious to see how it does with the extra weight behind. Overall, we're VERY happy so far! Hey, congratulations on the new RV! Sounds like you're having fun with it already. Glad to hear your return trip went well. I think some slow down on the steep grades is to be expected, but from what I've heard so far it's tolerable. I'll be interested to hear about your towing experience. -GregRe: 2014 Seneca wheel size? Prairie Wanderer wrote: GL, I purchased a 2015 Seneca 37TS in late June and left for Alaska the first week of July towing a Jeep Wrangler. Initally driving in the mountains I thought it was a little underpowered but the engine seemed to get stronger as we got more miles on it. Very happy with it now. We ended up putting about 10000 miles on it. Love the rig so far! Mark Good to hear, Mark - you pretty much described exactly what I want to do with it...trip to Alaska, towing a Jeep Wrangler. :) One of the main reasons I'm thinking about moving from a 5th wheel to the Seneca is to take longer trips with the kids - fewer potty and snack breaks. Having some space to work with during the drive will make longer trips much more enjoyable for all of us. Thanks for the info! -GregRe: 2014 Seneca wheel size? anav8or wrote: Based on everything I've seen, the wheel size looks to be the same on both model years. Thanks for the reply! Your sig says you have a 2015 Seneca? Any thoughts on it so far? I'm wondering how it handles hills - especially if you're towing.2014 Seneca wheel size?We just looked at a 2015 model Jayco Seneca and the sales guy was mentioning the new 22.5 inch wheels. Anyone know what size were on the 2014? From the Jayco website I can see they were also the Alcoa aluminum rims, but they don't say what size. Any other key differences from 2014 to 2015? (specifically, we were looking at a 37TS) Thanks!Re: Toy Hauler Must-haves Frankandbeans wrote: GL wrote: Frankandbeans wrote: Hey guys and gals, I race one (Sometimes bring two) sport bikes.... Tired of sleeping on air mattresses in the trailer over the weekend and being dependant upon facilities of the tracks. I know exactly what you mean - racing bikes I went from a pickup truck only, to an open trailer, to a 14ft enclosed, then finally to the toy hauler. Slept many nights in all of the above, definitely much nicer in the toy hauler. :) I would definitely suggest an onboard generator, and don't forget that you'll be wanting to run tire warmers too - you'll want a genny that can handle that AND your A/C unit(s). Our race weekends are usually 3 days, so I burn plenty of gas with the genny - that's what I use the aux gas tank for, I've never used it for gas for the toys. (I wouldn't put race gas in it anyway) Anyway, good luck with your search! How much juice does a normal 13.5 or 15.5 BTU A/C use? The haulers I'm looking at are almost 50/50 if they have the Onan 4k or 5.5. My Chicken Hawks draw about 1100 watts. I already have a Honda EU2000, but one of the points of upgrading to a TY is so I don't have to lug around a genny anymore. :) I know the 5.5k would handle it, unsure of the 4k units. Thanks for all the input! Running watts on my 13.5 is listed as 1900. I can tell you I've run both units plus a set of Chicken Hawks all day long plenty of times. I have to turn one AC unit off if I want to run more than one set of warmers. (no surprise)
