I-55 at Memphis
We're planning a trip from AR to MS. I saw on a video of some people complaining about I-55 at Memphis recently being so bad it shook apart their camper. They were also complaining about lots of things sooooo...... Going we would go south through Memphis and then get off 55 pretty quick for 22, but coming back we would be coming straight north on I-55 and go through Memphis going north. Has anyone been on this part of the Interstate and give advice? Thanks950Views0likes1CommentAdvice on aging storage door handles
The black handles on our fifth wheel outside storage doors (slam latch) are getting really dull and brittle-looking from the sun over the years. I think they are OK, but would like to put "something" on them to protect from UV. I'm thinking 303 Protectant would make them turn white and streaky. Any advice on what to use? OK Guys, dumb question. When I am planning our travels I search for “XXXXXtown, State to XXXcity, State” to get how far between destinations and of course it takes me to Google maps which is most helpful. Problem is sometimes the route and mileage they give doesn’t match up with when we are actually out there and using our Garmin RV GPS (which is awesome). Is there a free website of maps that would match up better with what our Garmin RV GPS tells us to do (which is of course the route we are going to use)? I do all this planning on a computer and not on my phone so I’m not sure if I would be interested in an app. Would prefer some free mapping website. Is there such a thing or how do ya’ll do it? Thanking everyone for replies and awaiting more. Interesting reading. To clarify: we tow a 29.5 Arctic Fox FW(built heavy) with a 2017 Ford F250. We are only interested in the Nexus Super C Wraith 32W because that's the shortest Super C out there that doesn't have a "fold up" bed or a Jayco Greyhawk 29MV only with the NEW Ford engine. Asking advice/opinions: Considering getting a Class C motorhome. We have had diesel truck with fifth wheel for many years. Diesel=power/torque. We travel a lot in the mountains-especially Colorado. We want a Super C, but not sure can afford. Second choice is a Jayco Greyhawk (gasoline engine). Looking at 30-32’ choices. We would flat-tow a Jeep Cherokee. I wanted to follow up here. I'm the OP. We finally got our camper done with the Wash WaxAll and we are super pleased. SOOOOOO much easier than what we were doing before. No more climbing up and down ladders a million times. We'll see how it holds up, but application and initial results are great! A question was asked ,and given, and many use the product we have mentioned , works for many of us. cummins2014: I am laughing, but I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Totally understand a quick/easy product may not be as good, but hey it works for us. My husband is also 73 and ENOUGH of climbing around on ladders not to mention dragging an extension cord with a buffer, etc. No salt water/air where we travel/live. We've done stuff the hard way long enough. Our camper is no longer new anyway so we'll just do something easy and will be certainly better than doing nothing to protect our camper. We're with you!!! Going to give the Wash Wax All a shot. You keep fishing and we'll keep hiking/biking and less time buffing things. For a few years we have used Rejex on our 2015 fifth wheel fiberglass camper. The last couple of times we applied it was difficult. Being you have to do a lot of this job on a ladder, we want to go back to using something easier to apply and wipe off. We use Turtle Wax Ice on our truck and are super happy with application and results—easy to apply and wipe off. I recently learned about new Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash and Wax or the Hybrid Solutions Wet Wax which I believe(?) is a polymer like Rejex. How do we go about removing the Rejex other than polishing it off (which we aren’t interested in doing)? Can we just start using something like Turtle Wax Ice or TW Hybrid Solutions (on top of the Rejex without bothering to “remove” it)? Which would better: TW Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash/Wax, Hybrid Solutions Wet Wax or Turtle Wax Ice? Asking for opinions. THX11KViews0likes31Comments
