My landing gear failed just when I was about to leave from a campground. After investigating my options(Bulldog,one Speed and Ultra-Fab 2speed)wanted the Ultra but they were 2 to 3 week lag due to backlog. So had to use the Bulldog because they shipped overnight. Depends on where the crack is. When mine cracked I had it looked at and it could be repaired but it was cracked at a seam and went part way around drain hole. It would have cost me about, unable to get on the ground and get back up, $400. So I had one made, square this time. When I had it installed I had straps to support all the tanks. No straps were installed originally which allowed the tanks to bounce, thus the crack. It cost me just over $500. Would have cost over $1500 and take 4 weeks instead of 2 weeks. When the TV was lifted a few inches the King Pin wanted to raise above the hitch and stressed the hitch jaws and bent one side. Make sure you replace the hitch since it is no longer safe to drive. My insurance paid for my truck bed repair. Luckily my trailer(5th wheel) was not damaged. Did not pay for new hitch. Also found out that 16K hitch has on rare occasions been known to release said king pin, which what happened to me, from a repairman who had retired from the business after 30yrs.244Views0likes0Comments
