Re: Picture Posting Test Threadtest Re: Any regrets going from Gas to Diesel?I guess I'm also in the minority glass. We have owned all types of rv's covering the spectrum (cab over, class C, class A, bumper pull, fifth wheel, and finally a bus.) Currently have a class A again. Having been a journeyman diesel mechanic for 30+ years, I know the difference in costs for even the most basic items. (filters, oil amounts etc.). Now, factor in the cost of major items (engines, trans, rear ends) and I couldn't convince myself it was worth the extra cost. I hear people say all the time, "but,a diesel will go a million miles". True, but,how many people will put a million miles on an rv? These are not long haul truckers. Here's a simple test, hit a dealer and ask them how much for a set of plugs and a fuel pump and air filter for say a ford V10, then, hit Cummins and ask the same for injectors and an injector pump and air filter. These are common maintenance items. See what I mean? Just my opinion... yours may be different.Re: Keeping pets cool while parked, no AC in rig?pretty simple solution for a short time away period. I built one and the only change I made was to use a 12v. fan so no need to worry about power outages. I would guess this would work even better in a van than an rv. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxSLbpAwibgRe: good Sam extended warrentyBiscuit... the plan is monthly. We could drop out anytime, although I doubt I would short of some unforeseen emergency that would take us off the road.Re: good Sam extended warrentythe plan is 86 a month and covered the drive train up to 180,000 miles as long as you have some kind of maintenance record.(save receipts f you do it yourself). Also covers your generator, reefer, things like my electric steps, and the rear trailing arm bushings that they found were bad while doing the rear. etc.plus if you breakdown over 100 miles from home, it pays up to 10 days for a motel and a rental car. For an extra 20 a month, they covered tire blowout regardless of tire year. Now my policy covered a motor home up to 15 years old. Others may be different. Old-Biscut... we've had this plan since Oct. last year, however, we had Good Sam coverage on our old bus conversion and were also pleased back then.good Sam extended warrentyThis topic has been moved to another forum. (some 5300 dollars minus the 500 deductible) Thank you Good Sam for a painless and pleasurable experience.
