It takes a while to start if I just try and start it from inside or outside via the starter switch. When I give it gas manually it will start just fine but will not even after it is warmed up unless I give it gas manually. I have a brand new carb on the generator. I think its an adjustment but I am not sure which one it is that I need to adjust to fix the hard normal start issue. See photo of what I am using to give it gas manually. https://postimg.org/image/w5c0pd4tbRe: 1998 Onan MicroLite 4000 Weak SPARKI took the camper out on a 4 day trip, just returned. I have to crank it a long time before it finally starts, it drains the battery, it takes so long, and is why I need to run the truck to start the generator. Any ideas what could be wrong, solenoid maybe? Once running it runs great but is very loud. Any suggestions on how to quiet her down? I feel bad running it in a quiet campgrounds like the one I was in this past week.Re: 1998 Dometic RM 2652 refrigerator corrosion on platesIts running now. I reconnected everything and running off the house 110. Getting cooler as I type YeahhhhhRe: 1998 Dometic RM 2652 refrigerator corrosion on platesYes it is a rebuilt unit from RVcool.com and Yes it was upright for the past 2 days. Its upright now in the camper for the past 13 hours almost level. They said to roll the fridge side to side after installing everything when I had the fridge on its back. I flipped the cooling unit side to side, upside down and around before Installed to when the fridge was on its back but did not roll it side to side after that. Do you think I need to pull it back out and roll it side to side when its on its back? I also tried to run it direct to 100v, the gas is not installed yet because I was waiting for paint to dry on the bracket. Do you think it all needs to be installed or plugging in direct to 110v (The 110 plug on the refrigerator to an extension cord to my homes 110) should suffice to make it work? I only ran it for a couple hours like this, didn't feel any change in temperature inside and the top of the cooling unit, felt from the roof was hot, the tank at the bottom was not hot at all.Re: 1998 Dometic RM 2652 refrigerator corrosion on platesI installed a new cooling unit, went direct 110v to test it and it still isn't getting cool. The top of the cooling unit where the fins are on top is getting hot but the ank is cool. Does that make any sense. Before I changed the cooling unit, the tank was getting hot. What can it be?Re: 1998 Onan MicroLite 4000 Weak SPARKIts a brand new 1 month old deep cycle battery. Should it start the generator? Its an Interstate SRM-24 How many cranking amps does my generator require? These are cranking amp specs on my house battery: Cranking Amps: 690 Cold Cranking Amps: 550 More info about my deep cycle Interstate SRM-24 battery here: http://www.interstatebatteries.com/p/interstate-batteries/srm-24/interstate-batteries-srm-24-srm-24?dsNav=N~4294784989-4294749800-4294749799-4294749798-2147384903Re: 1998 Onan MicroLite 4000 Weak SPARKMy house/RV battery is a deep cycle battery. Could that be the problem? I have a switch to connect the 2 at any time. Its used in case my TRUCK battery dies or is low.Re: 1998 Onan MicroLite 4000 Weak SPARKCummins just sent me this after asking them the same question (these generators have a separate battery? Where would it be?: The generator has it's own starting battery(s), separate from the vehicle. If the generator batteries are not charged, are not charging, or are just old\dead, then running the vehicle engine to get the generator to start, is needed to start the generator. When I get calls of a generator not starting or it's clicking when trying to start, that can indicate a dead battery. Running the vehicle engine can charge the battery to get the generator going or the generator works off the vehicle battery\alternator to get running.Re: 1998 Onan MicroLite 4000 Weak SPARKThank you. I think my battery in the truck is going. It sat for a couple years ands was not on a tickle charger. If I put a volt gauge on my truck batter it I see the volts drop slowly, even when the generator is on. Shouldn't the generator recharge my vehicle/ouse batter?Re: 1998 Onan MicroLite 4000 Weak SPARKIs it typical that I have to start my trucks engine for the generator to have enough power to fire over? She wont turn over if I don't run the truck first. Does it mean my batter in the truck does not have enough cranking amps maybe unless she is running? Seem odd to me. PS: new carb brought her back to life but now she doesn't have enough power to turn the starter unless the truck is running. Seems odd that the trucks v10 engine fires right up on the battery but the generator wont unless I have the truck running.
