Am I missing something?OP (Dean) pse check your private msg's...Tires with KevlarI am looking for a set of tires for 18" wheels, somewhere around 275/70R18's with at least 3700 pound load index... My main concern is rock damage on gravel roads when loaded off the pavement, I want a strong sidewall and increased puncture protection. The only Kevlar tires I see are Goodyear Wranglers, three types.. Also want them to be good in snow... Anyone have any experience with a Kevlar tire, only thing I know as yet is they are very expensive.. Is the Kevlar worth the extra money??? ThanksOverloaded wheel BreakageOUCH! This was very interesting, now I am glad we got rid of our stock wheels. In our case the 3500 Dodge SRW came with tires rated at about 3000 pounds each, I tried to find out what the wheel rating was, there was no stamp inside the rim, even asked the truck manufacturer, they did not provide the wheel rating either, so went with Rickson 19.5 inch, 5000 pound per wheel. Why are they reducing the weight carrying ability of these trucks with the low rated factory tires and wheels?Re: What am I missing on GVWR?? larkyblast wrote: Well looks like it will be the northstar for us. The dealer with the 720 was offended by my offer, but given the build quality inside the unit, there is no way I was paying close to list. I already had another dealer willing to order me one for slightly more than I offered the local dealer, but we decided the wait is just too long. You probably have seen this before? Yes you do have to pay the GST at the border crossing, HST as you say. Be careful with warranty coverage, depending on the make of the truck if it is still under warranty in the USA, you could find yourself with no warranty when you go to a dealer in Canada. If you are going to reside in this country and bring your truck you have exemptions to both taxes, if you qualify...Re: Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island Crowe wrote: Don't want to high jack but cool beans that the ferry is back! Yes this is a good thing, access the more quiet part of the province from your area with almost no driving... You will sail right by this spot on the way in to Yarmouth. Cape Forchu Be sure to visit this attraction, so much better than the Peggys Cove area near the city of Halifax, with thousands of cruise ship passengers crawling all over the rocks. You can then go down the Fundy Shore or the South Shore of NS, Fundy is more busy....and hotter in summer in the Annapolis Valley, we prefer the cool SW facing bays and inlets of the South Shore in summer around here.
