Sooo. Im leaning tward an ac house fan..Re: Honda eu2000i 12v outlet for fan? SoundGuy wrote: To the OP ... There's no need to go through all this when you can use a 120 vac fan and plug it into one of the gensets receptacles, just as I did. Since the EU2000i's output has a floating neutral I used that same plug to G-N bond the genset's output so my Progressive EMS wouldn't interpret the signal as an open ground and not pass power on to the trailer. 2 birds with 1 stone. ;) True,, however , Reason I am is I have a 12v power in the bed of my truck that will switch over and run the fans when gen has turned off and allow them to cool for 20 mins before it shuts off. keeping the box and gens cool.Re: Honda eu2000i 12v outlet for fan?Well, poo, Checked the voltage with eco off, spiked to 19.5v . Yep cooked my little pc fan , hahahha So to the parts store to get a 12dc elect fan tomorrow, It should handle that spike way better.Re: Honda eu2000i 12v outlet for fan?I also found this post on the forum , Guy used his 12v for fan looks like. If had had initially known I would use th e12v outlet , I would have got a bigger fan , http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28956619/srt/pa/pging/1/page/1 I will try and get pics of my project , to get some input from you all.Re: Honda eu2000i 12v outlet for fan?Hmm you think bleeding 2 little PC fans at 1.50 amps each would effect it ?Honda eu2000i 12v outlet for fan?Hey folks, I have built a enclosure for my Honda gen sets. has anyone used the Honda eu2000i 12v outlet for fan? I had a power wart supplying power to my 2 pc fans 200cfm each . But after looking at the amp output on my power wart (12v dc power) I decided to make a cable that fit the Honda 12v socket and us it . Seems to work fine bat have read somewhere that 12v is a nasty source. My fans are 12v and only draw 3 amps for the pair . The 12v 8amp outlet one honda says for battery charging use only .. We all know they not much good for that . As a reg battery charger is way better. Any input ? Just dont want to ruin the fans with a nasty power source.Re: Install a vent in your fuel can ? Atwood tank, Honda 2000iI read this The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is an American federal program that requires transportation fuel sold in the United States to contain a minimum volume of renewable fuels. The RFS originated with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and was expanded and extended by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. EPA non vented cans mandatory as of 2011Re: Install a vent in your fuel can ? Atwood tank, Honda 2000iI drilled a Very small hole in my cap. Now the Honda can actually work properly . Mechanic told me yesterday The reason fuel cans have been made with NO VENT is actually because Ethanol ! Yep thats right Ethanol , It actually Attracts and Ubsorbes WATER !! Cars can handle it pretty well but small equipment ....Can Not . Again leave it to the GOV to waist corn to make ethanol so we can ruin more small engines. Great for the service industry !Re: Install a vent in your fuel can ? Atwood tank, Honda 2000iYep I am hunting for a replacement cap that has a pre installed vent hole. Just not having any luck finding one, I did find one that was vented but it said fits PRE 20011 outboard fuel can. I wonder if the threads have changed with the epa hooplahh can post 2011. wonder how many people have lost homes over this new can . One man told me his pressured up and emptied the whole 6 gls in his garage. Another man told me his would flood his engine with out shutting the fuel OFF. Leave it to the gov to make crappy, dangerous fuel cans manditory.Install a vent in your fuel can ? Atwood tank, Honda 2000iI have set up two Honda eu2000's on aux fuel cell (Atwood boat tank) I have had this same tank before and it is not vented . In the heat of the day it will swell and try to force fuel down the lines . has anyone installed a vent on one of those cans? Or can one just drill a very small hole in the cap? It will set in the middle of my truck bed. The two hondas are in a enclosure near tail gate.
