All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsMoving on....had a great runLast nite, our 17 year old motorhome sold. So many memories, kinda sad but relieved. Almost feels like we lost an old friend. Wife and I started "camping" in the early-mid 70s with a Honda 750 motorcycle, air mattress, sleeping bags and pup tent. Babies started coming, bought a used popup, found the 5 of us could camp for 5 days for less than one nite in a hotel. Made sense. Then we found we really liked it. Bought a used 1986(?) 22 foot SCOTTY, (only made them for, I think, 2 years,) had that for 4 years, then a new 1990 DUTCHMAN TT. Retired in '99, , in 2001 sold the house and bought a new DOLPHIN motorhome...traveled the Country for 2 years, then bought a small house and then snowbird time for 4 years in New Mexico and Arizona. Best part was we met folks and had experiences one simply cannot get at 400 mph at 35,000 feet. On this forum for quite a few years. Found it interesting. Good info, bad info but always entertaining. Keep it safe and enjoy ! jimmyRe: On board propane filling questionGo to a PROPANE ONLY outfit near you. They have the equipment and the knowledge to fill your tank. Your tank is bolted on...drive the RV to the filling station. They have the long hoses to get to it.Re: How do I switch cell phones on VerizonGo to the store.....IMORe: Passports??My experience in Algodones, Mexico....just walk in. However, leaving, you go thru US Customs. Have your passport.Re: Help needed to find mobile tech in the Bronx, NYDoes he have a road service contract? (Coach-net.or Good Sam) If so, call them, they probably have information. Or have him look up the nearest (or nearby RV dealership) perhaps they have an answer. But the Bronx............Re: Is a converter upgrade necessary anymore?I have a Parallax 4455. No problems, charges the batteries just fine. just FWIWRe: Bad Interstate batteryOnce, years ago, one of my Interstates failed within a few months. Took it back to the dealer I bought if from, he said he had to test the battery to make sure it was defective. However, the equipment he had was "broken". Then, maybe ship it to Interstate to make sure. So.... I had no battery, no battery replacement even tho it was well under the warranty period. Sams' Club down the road, bought one of theirs, been going back there ever since. NEVER a "defective" anything. Heckuvalot cheaper too.Re: Transmission temperatureOn a slight tangent here, I installed a transmission temp gauge on my dash.(2001 F-53/V-10). FWIW, the temp almost never seems to go beyond 160-170 degrees,Re: Interstate 40 overnite stopsLots of campgrounds on I-40, but many of them close for the winter (October?) Get a Good Sam campground Directory.Camping World, about 10 bucks. They list every cg and rate them. The rating, thru my experience is OK but some are questionable. Quite a few KOAs...you a member? They have their own DirectoryRe: Coach Net or just use my insuranceY'don't have to pay Coach-net $249/year for what THEY want to to buy. Keep running the website until you see "Premier Coach"...for one year, $159. Expensive? Wait until you have a blowout. That card is worth it's weight in gold.
