Friends and family just don't seem to get it. Shoes on the furniture, being ruff in general, flushing a tampon down the macerating toilet, etc... I think they see the coach as a toy? Maybe they relate it to a hotel room. The last thing you do at a hotel is care about taking care of the room. Maybe they just see it as a party? I have even had friends say can I borrow it? Can me and my family take it to Burning man? They don't seem to understand the No answer. The exception here is other coach owners. They get it.Fleetwood Discovery LXE 44H 5 month reportI have now owned the FD LXE 44H for 5 months. My shakedown fixes were, needed a new microwave, some latches needed adjustment, windshield wiper needed to be reset, awning needed adjustment, whistling at door step well. REV allowed me to go to my local RV service center and paid them for the repairs. With that said this is a rock solid RV. The V ride thing keeps the motorhome from leaning in turns. Makes a huge difference. Thankful I did not pull the trigger on the Dutch Star or Allegro Bus for 100K more. Everything is just easy to use. I love my camper!Re: Newmar Ventana vs. Fleetwood Discovery LXEThat is a ridiculous statement.Re: Newmar Ventana vs. Fleetwood Discovery LXEI have owned my 2019 LXE 44H for 3 months now. I have driven it about 4K miles. Someone needs to explain to me why we need a side radiator? I live in Oregon where it is quite mountainous. I have pulled large grades while towing a Jeep Cherokee, ( the grapevine, Siskiyou summit, the cajon pass)and the temperature gauge barley moved. Plenty of power. Seems like the side radiator would takes out one of your storage bays? If the the coach works perfect why do I care? Every system on this thing is rock solid. Leveling is fast and accurate. Slide mechanisms are smooth and strong. I did have an issue with the windshield wiper that was fixed. Some shade adjustments. A couple latches that I thought could do better. All fixed under warranty. My last coach had major issues when new. Roof leak, leaking gray tank, warning buzzers for the air, etc. The LXE is a dream in comparison. If I had one complaint the paint job could be better. They could have sanded 2 or 3 more times between layers. Probably would have added 10K to the price of the coach. I like the paint job on the Newmar London Air. 600K plus coach. I test drove the Dutchstar and the Allegro Bus before making my decision. The LXE seemed put together better. So far I am not disappointed.Re: Newmar Ventana vs. Fleetwood Discovery LXEComparing a new Mountain Air to the LXE is not really fair. The Mountain Air is more than double the price.Re: Newmar Ventana vs. Fleetwood Discovery LXEWe too were considering the LXE verses the Dutchstar. Went with the LXE for 100K less. We have owned the coach for 3 months. The LXE is a fantastic coach. My only fixes were minor adjustments that were all taken care off at my local shop. I love this coach. Newmar does not have the Firefly system. I can control everything through an app on my cell phone or tablet. No more getting out of bed to turn off lights or adjust the temperature. The V ride feature on the chassis is amazing. Not sure how they do it but the coach does not lean when you go through a turn. No more feeling like you are going to flip. I could go on all day but way more bang for your buck with the LXE. We got ours from Motorhome Specialists in Alvarado Texas. Had to drive it 2000 miles to get it home but it was worth it. Feel free to ask me questions.Re: Gas MileageMine has 3000 miles on it as it had to make its way home to the West Coast. I know this is the wrong way to ask another question but when using your engine brake what is your Max RPMs. I like to keep it 25 or under.Re: Fleetwood Discovery LXE 44H ownersMine is a 2019 and I have heated floors. Temp control as well as programable.Re: Gas MileageI had the wiring harness installed to avoid the wobble. So far so good.Re: Fleetwood Discovery LXE 44H ownersSorry I just got your message. I have owned mine for about a month now. I love this coach. There are things I would like to have if I had another 100K to spend. The paint job is beautiful but you can feel the different layers of paint. I think when you move up they spend more time sanding between layers. No big deal. The V RIDE feature on the chassis is amazing. I do not know how it works but it keeps you straight up and down in turns. You do not have that feeling that the coach is going to flip over if you go into a turn to fast. There is more than enough power with the 450hp cummins. Good engine brake. The fit and finish is excellent. My initial fixes were, the windshield wipers were not working correctly, a few hoses need to be tightened above the generator, my microwave needed to be replaced, a few adjustments to some of the latches, a few other little things. Not bad, my last coach had a long list of fixes. Leveling system is really good. The interior of the coach is a show stopper. The woods are super thick. Everything is quality. People talk about a side radiator but I don't get it. I drove it 2000 miles to get it home and the temperature gauge did not move. That is all I care about. Love the firefly system. You can control everything from your cell phone or tablet. Love the heated floors. Finally getting used to the Aqua Hot. The bed is super comfortable. I finally have a coach that I could park in the sun on a 100 degree day and have no problem cooling it. I could go on all day so just let me know if want more details.
