I found the toilet plumbing and vent through an access panel in the “basement” of the camper. I plan to cut both and install unions when I’m done. As far as the under belly, I don’t want to looked all hacked up. I’m going to cut it from left to right only as far back as I need to to drop the tank and replace the entire section from there forward. I’ll overlap the two sections a hair and seam it with gorilla tape or the scrim someone mentioned. Hopefully I’ll get the tank down this weekend. I’ll let you guys know how it Goes.$hitty situation for meSo, just recently purchased a new to us 2012 Cougar 325SRX. All looked well. Upon returning home from our first trip with it I had to park it overnight in a temp spot in our driveway to unload the garage. In the morning I notice dripping from the belly pan. Sure enough its black water. I finally pull part of the chloroplast down as best I can without damaging it, also noticing a couple sections have been taped indicating previous repair. I find my black tank leaking from the front right corner somewhere near the top. So, at some point this week I plan to get deeper into it and get the tank dropped to see what's what. A couple questions: 1) Is the black tank vented? I would assume so but from my quick look under there last time and the layout of the bathroom, not sure where a vent would run through to the ceiling. 2) What is the best source for the black chloroplast insulation? I want to replace the entire section that was cut by someone prior. Thanks for any feedback.Re: Fifth Wheel Slide QuestionGreat. Thanks for the replies everyone. Just making sure.Fifth Wheel Slide QuestionI guess this isn't specific to 5th wheels but that's what I have. Anyhow, I just purchased my first unit with a slide. It is a 2012 Keystone Cougar SRX325 5th wheel toyhauler. While opening the large left side slide (dinette and sofa) I notice the bottom of the slide starts moving and then the top starts to go. The slide does not slide out square top to bottom. The same while retracting. Is this normal? ThanksRe: Considering New 5th Wheel Toyhauler-Concerns Grit dog wrote: merc1100sc wrote: I kind of figured this would be the case. Time to look at different models I guess. Bummer. No, it is not necessarily the case. I urge you to read the multitude of payload arguments...I mean threads on here and talk to some folks and form your own opinion before canning the idea. Too many variables to condemn the idea based on a couple posts from people who may or may not know what they are talking about. I agree that everyone has their own opinion. I also realize once I load the garage up with **** the pin weight will drop noticeably. I just don't want to beat the **** out of the new truck weight wise. I'd like to stay in the 2K pin weight less than 12,500 Dry if possible.Re: Considering New 5th Wheel Toyhauler-ConcernsAfter some more research, I've downsized my search to a Cougar 326Srx if I can find one. Big enough for what we need and still not too heavy in total or on the pin. problem is finding one new/clean enough to purchase.Re: Considering New 5th Wheel Toyhauler-ConcernsI kind of figured this would be the case. Time to look at different models I guess. Bummer.Considering New 5th Wheel Toyhauler-ConcernsMorning all. I am considering selling my current tag work and play and purchasing a new 5th wheel toy hauler. My concern is the hitch (pin) weight. The model that has caught my eye as far as the size I would like is a new Heartland Fuel 335. Size is good. Price is fair. Dry weight not bad. The pin weight has me concerned. Showing at 3,400 pounds. My tow vehicle is a 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab Standard Box. That pin weight puts my truck at max payload. What do you guys think? Too much?Re: Trailer Hitch/Accident ConcernsI have reached out to the insurance company and requested a replacement.Re: Trailer Hitch/Accident ConcernsThanks for the replies. yes the other driver is at fault. Their insurance is covering the cost. The bumper has a small dent in it which they are replacing. I'm thinking I should just ask for a new hitch to be safe. They will have the bumper off anyway so replacing the hitch is minimal.
