Clearance is occasionally an issue but ours isn't as tall as the larger FW's. Our biggest challenge is the rear jacks, which hang pretty low and will drag through some dips in forest roads. Keep an eye out for that. I still wouldn't trade it for the convenience of auto-level.Re: Our new solar/inverter power systemThat is a very elegant, powerful, and professional system. I have a smaller variant of your configuration: Reflection, 540 w solar, 580 ah battery, 2800 w Magnum inverter. I say this because I can relate to your experience and expertise in designing and installing such a system. Every time we sit down to an after-dinner espresso while boondocking, we appreciate what this system adds to the experience. Very nicely done!Suggested locations in Arizona's White Mountains? My wife and are looking forward to a couple weeks on the road in our FW with our two rottweilers, in early September. After a hot summer and all the COVID insanity, we just want to get out of Phoenix and boondock in the White Mountains. This is new territory for us, so I'm looking for wisdom here on recommended areas and any other things to consider (like permits). Our FW has solar, nearly 500 ah of battery, full house inverter, cell booster and too many creature comforts. We just want to get away. Our preference is wooded areas and it would be a plus to be near water, but not a hard requirement. Just want cool and private. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.Re: Need RV Options in southwest Denver imgoin4it wrote: Check out the “flying saucer” RV park on W Hamden in Sheridan Colorado.. not a destination park but not a bad place . Has lots of permanent residents. Also another RV and mobile home park right around the corner on federal blvd. Both kind of “off the path” but might very well work for you. I did try Flying Saucer, and they're booked solid. I will look for the other one you mention. So far, I've tried about 4-5 parks, and they're all booked solid until November.Need RV Options in southwest DenverI've started a three month gig for my company in southwest Denver. I'll be flying home to Phoenix on the weekends. I'd like to spend this time in my fifth wheel, and park it someplace in the area, and commute to Waterton Canyon. Every RV campground I've checked in the area is booked solid for months. Does anybody have a creative idea? I'd prefer to live out of my RV, rather than a hotel. Thanks in advance for any advice. TimReplacing Norcold Refrigerator ControllerI have a simple control panel on my Norcold N811 refrigerator, in our 2017 Grand Design Reflection. 20180721_143046 by Tim Walden, on Flickr I would like to replace this with the Norcold 621988 Optical Control Assembly: Has anyone performed this swap, and it is a simple replacement, or am I missing something important? Thanks for the help. TimRe: Andersen Ultimate VS B&W Patriot Slider njonl wrote: Click For Full-Size Image. Ended up going with the Andersen Ultimate. Picked up the trailer today and it towed great! Trailer does sit nose high and I have about 7" clearance between the bed rails and bottom of the trailer. I guess I'll need to look into lifting the trailer a little or possibly going to a 33" tire on my truck so that the trailer will sit level. We went with the same hitch when upgrading to our F-350, and ended up the the same results. We're using the lowest hole on the hitch, and the nose is a couple inches high. We've had one outing and it wasn't an issue, so we may just live with it. When it's time to replace the tires on the RV, we may try to find something a little taller.Re: Will Honda 2000 supply MSH 3012's charger? For whatever it's worth, I'll add our experience to the discussion. We have the MS2812 inverter/charger, 450 AH bank, solar, and Honda EU2000. Shore power goes directly into the Magnum, and then out to the entire coach. When we run the Honda for bulk charging it maintains about 75 amps (as told by our Trimetric) until we hit 90% and I turn it off and let the solar do the rest. I only do this when we park in the woods and the solar can't get enough photons to do the job by itself.Re: Tracking a phone.... Following a loved ones locationWe use Glympse, which is great for broadcasting a GPS track to any other device. We use it a lot, when we're connecting with friends in another town, and want them to have detailed ETA information. I also used to use it daily when I had an hour commute, to give the wife an ETA for planning dinner or getting rid of the other man. :^)Re: Inverter, Solar, and Other Power RecommendationsIts a tough choice on the solar panel. Portable takes up valuable storage space, and you have to spend a little time setting it up and putting it away. However, you have the flexibility to move it around to keep it in the sun. Roof mounted panels are always out and always charging, if they are in the sun. So your batteries are being topped of while your rig is stored, on the road, etc. We needed more watts for our 450 AH battery bank, so ours are roof mounted. That's great, unless we park in the shade, but we also have a 2000w generator as backup. There are lots of installation threads on this site, which you can use for inspiration.
