They were given x number of rooms to clean in a shift and if they didn't get through them all in those hours they were written up. She said they'd brush the sheets off and leave them on the beds, refold towels if they didn't look that "used", and just rinse out the shower/tub. But the WORST was when she told me she'd seen her co-workers (not her -- this made her physically ill) use the SAME rag they cleaned the tub or toilet with to wipe out the coffee carafe!! DS works as a server in a popular diner. He said the reason steak knives are always pushed UNDER the steak on your plate is not to keep them from falling off. It's because those serrated edges don't always come clean in the dishwasher. So to avoid the customer wanting a "clean" knife, they are told to just shove it under the steak so you'll assume the junk on it came from YOUR steak.Re: Can I vent while we sit around the campfire ?My mom bought a Whirlpool W/D set from Sears back in 1984. My brother's still using it @ 30 years old. Nope, the set doesn't have "push buttons" or 15 different washing/drying cycles, only 3 different water levels to select, and a boring white -- but still doing what it's meant to do!Re: Before the kids grow up: A modified bucket list Deb and Ed M wrote: You've got 4 years. Once the oldest can drive, all bets are off, because they often have jobs and school ..... I thought this way too. I bought my first RV (a pop up) when DS was 9. Bought our current TT this past May. DS is a Senior in HS this year. This past summer he planned THREE camping trips for him & various friends -- with my blessings & input. He's already planning a Christmas trip with friends, and more trips NEXT summer. Don't count on it being "over" at 16. You might be surprised!Re: RV Ovens, hate them, love them, or just meh?I would use mine more (or attempt to learn HOW to use it!) if it didn't vent DIRECTLY into the TT!!!! Makes the TT MUCH too hot for the AC to recover from during the Texas Summer. Might try it if I camp during the winter though.Re: Parkview Riverside RV ParkAlways seems full when I've seen it (also from Garner SP). Did you check RVParkreviews?Re: 12 Years ago I did... What do I do now? - SewerI have a "Sewer Solution". I bought it with my first RV that had a Black tank in '09. Love it. Store everything in an old duffle bag. Did I mention I love it?!Re: Boy!! That was close.I bought the TT in my sig from a dealer whom I would recommend based on MY experience. He told me "bottom line" up front ($9999 to $7200), let me walk off. Brought my 17-YO son & BIL back a couple days later to check it out. No pressure. Just handed me the key & said "you know where it is". A couple days after that, I called back to buy. Easy peasy, sign on the dotted line. Might have been somewhat because I paid cash & didn't have a trade-in. But most of the time in their office we spent talking about the "office kitten" they'd just found in the back lot!!Re: Loaning Trailer to Friend -- UPDATEPicked the RV up today from friends house. Yep, we're still friends. No damage to trailer -- it's been swept & mopped, baths clean, & there was a basket of snacks, candles, & other goodies left inside. All is well.Re: Dealing with the unpredicablity of life and your camper!God is capricious. Learn to live with it. That's the best advice I can give.
