All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRv parks in Waco areaWe are full timers, doing some early research. We're thinking about wintering next year in the Waco area. We want something that is snowbird and pet friendly. Is that possible in Waco, or do we really need to go further south? This year is being spent in the Jackson, MS area. The campground is ok, but is full of year round dwellers and the lack of other "social" people is driving us crazy! There are a couple of places in Waco that I'm thinking about checking out, but want some imput from you all before I do.Re: What's on your gift list?At the top of our gift wish list is gift cards to WalMart. Might seem "dull", but we can use them almost anywhere in the country. And if there's something elsewhere that we want, we just use the "rob Peter to pay Paul" theory.....use grocery $ (for example) to get what we want, and use get card to replace grocery $.Who's the boss? We're full timers, and normally do a "major" move twice a year. It usually takes about 3-4 weeks to get from our workcamping gig to our winter home as we stop and see friends and relatives along the way. Our Jack mix, Roxie, pesters the **** out of us! As long as totes, etc are on the slide, she knows we have not "landed" and wants to go.....early! Lol! Normally she's my baby, but right now she's pestering Daddy. Guess she thinks he's the boss while we're traveling. Silly girl! :B:BRe: Camping at SturgisWe've been workcamping at Beaver Lake Campground outside of Custer this summer. Beautiful campground. They have everything from tent sites to full hook ups, including 4 types of cabins. Large sites. They don't gouge you for Sturgis week! Quiet time is enforced, so you will get your sleep. :-) A lot of people book for the next year before they leave.Re: shower cleaningTwice a year I use a product called "Quick-n-Brite". Then weekly I use Fantastic. Never any problems and often we stay in hard water areas.Re: Pimples or bumps behind wallpaperFollowing :-)Re: Where to stay in Branson MoYou really might want to rent a car. We've lived in Branson, and I honestly can't imagine seeing much of it without transportation.Re: laundryWe don't. Storage is such a premium. I would rather spend an hour or so at the laundrymat. And most campgrounds have laundry facilities so really not much of a hassle.Re: Which style of BBQ sauce for you?DH's favorite is the kind I make myself. Sauté some finely diced onion in a bit of butter. In a saucepan, combine one part brown sugar and two parts ketchup. Add drained onions and a couple dashes Liquid Smoke. Simmer 5 minutes. For a sweeter BBQ Sauce, increase brown sugar. For a smokies sauce, add more Liquid Smoke. We adjust ours to what we are preparing.Re: Whats the best restaurant .....Lambert's in Ozark, Mo! There are two others, but we haven't been to either. Free pass-arounds in addition to your meal. It's the home of the Throwed Rolls. Expect a wait of 90 minutes--sometimes more. But, so well worth the wait so don't let that scare you off. It's the only place DH will wait more than a few minutes for a table.
