You're always my first source of advice when I'm running into problems. I always know that SOMEBODY out there will have run into the same issue and be able to assist. Thanks so much!!!Where the heck is the fuel gauge calibration screw???????2003 Holiday Rambler Neptune: I was told that if I remove the driver's side basement panel where my fuel door/cap is that I will find a screw on the sending unit and can adjust the screw in order to calibrate my fuel tank gauge, which is reading WAY too full. Spent two hours working on it as it didn't go the way it was supposed to (isn't that always the case). Finally got to where I needed to be only to find---nothing. Just the fuel line running from the fuel cap to the tank, nothing else. Has anyone out there adjusted their fuel gauge on a similar RV who can tell me what the sending unit looks like and, hopefully, where it is? Thanks.Re: Generator won't start unless RV engine has been startedThanks for all the ideas; I really appreciate it.Re: Generator won't start unless RV engine has been startedThis is the OP: I know that you have to change-out all of the house batteries even if only one or two are shot. I do understand that all of them will need to be replaced simultaneously. But what about the chassis batteries? If I find that the house batteries are shot, are the chassis batteries considered to be part of the same system in the sense that they, too, would have to be replaced at the same time if I'm replacing the house batteries? Or are they considered to be a completely separate system. My understanding is that ALL batteries, regardless of whether they are house or chassis, have to be replaced if even one house battery is shot? Am I correct?Generator won't start unless RV engine has been startedHi guys; Getting ready for another trip; this one about 4600 miles in total. Noticed that the last couple of times I was at the RV (2003 Holiday Rambler Neptune) the Onan diesel generator wouldn't start unless I started the RV first. I'm thinking maybe the batteries are shot as they are 3 years old. Two things confusing me, though, are: 1) According to the readings I'm getting on my Energy Management Center, both the House and Chassis batteries are fully charged. 2)The RV itself seems to start just fine. I have 4 house and 2 chassis batteries. I would think that the generator and RV both use the chassis batteries to start, so it's weird that the RV starts with no problem, yet the generator doesn't even turn over unless I start the RV first. Anyone else out there experienced this?Re: How can I safely store linensGreat advice, as always guys, thanks!! I'll put dryer sheets in several areas of the MH to keep the air inside smelling nice. Because we're in S.Florida, I think I'd better not leave the linen loose because of the humidity. However, I'll try the Home Depot vacuum bags and see how I make out. It sure will save hauling a lot of "stuff" back and forth from the house to the MH every time we want to go out for a few days. Thanks again! How can I safely store linensI would like to keep our bedding, towels, etc, with the RV when it's in an outdoor storage yard. However, I'm worried about critters, stale smell, etc, getting into the linens. I thought about vacuum bags, but they never seem to stay sealed after a few months. Has anybody successfully stowed linens in an RV that is not heated/ air conditioned for months at a time?Re: TCM on Allison Transmission needed replacing. Why?Thanks for your input, guys. Very much appreciated!!Re: TCM on Allison Transmission needed replacing. Why?My regular mechanic couldn't even get the TCM to communicate with him, so I had the RV towed to an authorized Allison repair shop. The error code was stored, and they removed the TCM and "tested it on the bench." Prior to that, it sounds like they did check for loose/dirty connections, etc. My biggest worry is that because they couldn't come up with an answer as to what caused the TCM to fail, will I be replacing it again in the near future? There's nothing worse than fixing a problem, but not knowing how to prevent the problem from re-occurring.Looking for WASHABLE day/night shadesThe day/night blinds in my RV are made of that paper/cloth stuff that can't really be washed with water. Consequently, I have several that are stained and need replacing. I like the way the day/night blinds work. My only complaint is that they aren't washable. I don't want automatic blinds as I would prefer something that I can simply pop in after removing my old, stained blinds. Anyone know of a source to purchase day/night shades made of a washable (plastic??) material? Thanks.
