The only condensation issue I had was on windows. Once the frost melted the water runs into the window frame, but my window frames have small drain slits and it carries the water outside. I had frozen water on the side of my RV below the drains but it never felt really humid in the RV. Sort of a natural dehumidifier. But I live alone and it will probably be worse with more people.Re: Not happy with Forest River!I picked up a used 2005 Cedar Creek Daydreamer a couple years ago and whoever had it never took it back to the dealer to have issues fixed under warranty. The entertainment slide was so poorly aligned that there was a gap on the right side and I know it came from the factory that way. When I had it fixed the service person had to trim a cabinet knob to shorten it enough so the slide could be moved over enough to seal. I've found other issues that were clearly from the factory so I can't say I'm thrilled with the construction. One issue I'm not sure about is who installed a 2nd converter charger instead of an inverter to run the residential fridge. I don't know if it was the factory or the dealer but the breaker box definitely had someone label it as an inverter.Re: Short or longI have a long bed extended cab F350. I couldn't get in or out of a lot of places without the backup camera. It's definitely not for everyone but I couldn't haul some of the things I do without the long box. I might thing twice before getting the extended cab next time I trade.Re: Batt verses block insulationFoam has a higher R value for the same thickness but it's not a huge difference.Re: Your Rigbpounds: Looks nice enough! I'm jealous!Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadHere is the air compressor. They were under $100 for Black Friday. Link I tried starting the compressor with the drain valve open so it wouldn't fight pressure but that didn't work either. I'll try it again once the compressor is broken in since it would turn over a few times before stopping.Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadFWIW, I tried powering a Craftsman 1HP 3 gallon tank air compressor with the Generac. It was close but I think the surge time is too short to get it up to speed. At least it wouldn't at 4000+ feet.Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Thread professor95 wrote: curt12914 wrote: Professor, Have you tried the 2000 watt Honda and Yamaha generators? How do their inverters compare for output? Bottom line - all of the 2,000 advertised watt inverters (Honda, Kipor, Yamaha and Champion) reliably operated up to 1,500 watts of continuous load. NONE were capable of operating at a continuous load of 2,000 watts. The Honda and Kipor provided more surge current. The Yamaha and CPE would NOT start a 6,000 BTU window air conditioner used as a test device. The Honda and Kipor would start the device. The Yamaha and CPE would NOT start a 12 amp circular saw. The Kipor and Honda would. The Honda and Kipor are 100cc engines. The Champion and Yamaha have 80cc engines. This is in no way a statement that implies the Champion and Yamaha are inferior to the Kipor and Honda. But, if your needs are for higher surge or starting currents, the larger displacement engine models do appear to have an advantage. Have you tried a Generac iX 2000? It has a 127cc engine. BTW, from the Generac manual: NOTE: Power output and runtime are influenced by many factors, some of which are fuel quality, ambient temperature and engine condition. Output decreases approximately 3.5% for each 1,000 feet above sea level and 1% for every 10 degrees above 60 degrees F So if you know what the temp and altitude was for your tests you could probably estimate sea level output.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. professor95 wrote: OK - this is "hearsay" not first hand experience. I have received some messages from Lifan generator owners that say they are having a difficult time getting parts or service. Some have had to pay high freight charges to ship them to an authorized repair center and complained of extremely slow return times. I would venture to say it depends on if a servicing dealer is close to where you live or not. Well, one of the claims of Lifan motorcycle owners had to do with availability of parts. I guess generators are treated differently. The motorcycle crowd tends to do their own service, so the service center issues don't surprise me.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Anyone try the Lifan generators? I did a search and they were suggested in a couple threads but nobody said they actually owned one. They are the only gens I know of that allow you to link 2 different sized inverter gens together. And before the same people say who are they and suggest Honda, Lifan has a pretty good reputation as far as Chinese motorcycles go. The motorcycles have clones of Honda engines and I've been reading about their motorcycles for at least 10 years so it's not like they just popped up out of nowhere. I certainly heard of their name before I heard of Champion. That doesn't mean their generators are any good though which is why I'm asking.
