Do you have any suggestions on TT that have a separate walled garage? In the 30 foot range or less? Starting to look into downsizing and not sure if that really exists or not. Thanks!Re: Thinking of selling the 5th wheel and going smallerThanks for the advice. We currently have 3 bikes in the back - Aprilia RSV4's. The one in the middle is backwards to fit it all. I would like to try to keep all 3 in the back, but not sure if that's possible with a TT. (We 'adopted' a friend that rides with us and we keep his bike in the back as well). I personally like having the bathroom, TV, AC, fridge of an RV. It's nice on a super hot day or rainy day to hide inside with the kid. Track days have very limited places for entertainment for the kid. The cargo trailer idea is what my husband would prefer. We are doing less track days now that the kid is getting older, but I love it and don't really want to stop. I also enjoy the RV lifestyle and would still go RVing even if we aren't doing track days. We did find one that was similarly set up in CA from a private party for around 58k. (we have a lot of extra options on it). I guess I really need to do some more research on what the replacement will be and whether or not it's feasible to switch for a smaller one or not. I'll keep doing more research for TT's that are smaller with a vapor barrier. I have a feeling that it might not exist - and that would solve my dilemma.Thinking of selling the 5th wheel and going smallerWe purchased a 5th wheel Heartland Cyclone 3010 in 2013. At that time, I thought we would have more kids, but now realize that it's not going to happen. So we don't really need all that space anymore. Also, we just bought a house and the town will allow RV parking for anything smaller than 30 feet in our backyard and the Cyclone is 35 feet long. So I'm seriously considering downsizing. One of our friends is interested in buying a Toy Hauler and I casually mentioned that I might be interested in selling ours. He saw it this weekend and said that he's very interested. One issue is, I have no idea how much to price it. If we can come to an agreement (I'm not desperate to sell it), then I have to consider what to do as a replacement. Should I stay with a toy hauler, but just something much smaller - or should I go with something even more basic? So my questions. 1) Where can I find the best place to price out what we have currently (most realistic pricing to be fair for both parties). 2) What should I think about as a replacement. If I go RV, do they have a TT that has a vapor barrier type wall (sliding glass doors). I haven't really started looking so if anyone has suggestions or a link to a thread that could help me get started, I would appreciate it. Thanks for any input. PS we have a 4.5 year old boy that we take with us on track days.Re: Andersen-3604 Camper LevelerJust used it this past weekend and they works pretty well. I'm not a good leveler so I think I could have raised it a bit more and was too cautious. It was SO much easier than those damn blocks. And pretty much all my blocks have cracked. I also like the holey mat that they sold in the 'all inclusive' bag. You can remove most if the dirt/sand from your shoes before entering the RV.Re: Onan generator and gaugeMine was broken when I first got it (and it's still a little funky) but at the factory, they reversed the wires. Check that....Re: Small divided toy haulerYou looking for a TT? The only ones I can really find are around 30 feet long that has a separate garage. With a TT you don't need a huge truck. I was looking at a few before I decided on a 5th wheel. We had to upgrade our 1/2 ton to a 1 ton pick up once we go tthe 5th wheel. here are some suggestions: http://cruiserrv.com/products/fun-finder-xtra/floorplans this one is 27 feet. Looks like a separate 9' garage from Keystone. A TT. http://www.keystonerv.com/previous-years?brand=Carbon&year=2014 There was one with a nice sliding glass door between the garage and the living space that was a TT. I can't remember the name of it but I'll keep looking.Re: Locks for the RampStupid question. This style: http://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-Hidden-Shackle-6271NKA-3/dp/B0023TV0LO/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1403873361&sr=1-2&keywords=master+lock+bump+proof You have another lock behind it?Re: Poll: do you use the comfort station? We usually camp in a parking lot (motorcycle track days) that has at the most (if ever) electric. No water or dumping hook ups, no even a dump station near by. Because of that we limit the time we use our own facilities (we don't know when we will be dumping next). If it's close by we use the facilities at the track and shower at the track b/c of the "endless hot water" as someone else pointed out. If we are at the campgroud with full hook ups and ability to dump, we use our own facilities.Re: Locks for the RampThanks. We do keep it at a secure lot when we aren't using it (storage lot). But there are times when we need to leave out and just want to deter people slightly more. I appreciate all the comments! -I PS do you ALSO lock your bikes up in the back? I did that once and my lock broke - the key just continued to spin. We had to call security at the track and they brought a cutter and was able to get through it in 5 minutes or less. So we haven't been doing that anymore. If the thieves are that determined, more than property may be at risk. Re: Locks for the RampThanks for the suggestions. Our master locks are rusting anyway so it's time for a replacement. I'll look into creating a lock inside the ramp to make it slightly more difficult. I know if a thief really wants to break in they will. I just want to make it either slightly harder so they will pass on our unit vs another unit.
