Besides, It's so much easier to simply sit in the driver's seat & throw a switch, & the chains are applied or removed as needed.Re: Nashville - Where to stay sdianel wrote: For the price we prefer Two Rivers Campground. Not as fancy as the others maybe but it is on the same road. They book up quickly so I would make reservations. They only have a few 50 amp sites and you must ask for one when you make reservations. They also have water and electric sites only so be specific. If you don't mind driving back into Nashville, 7 miles east is Seven Points Corps of Engineers campground on J Percy Priest Lake. Beautiful setting. Water and electric sites This is a great campground! We stayed there last December while my wife was in school. We were parked in the back, next to the fence that separated us from Jellystone campground which had a Christmas light show with 9 million LED lights going on. Fantastic nightly show!!! The staff was quite helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. They actually got upset if we didn't ask for help for the more difficult parts of loading, unloading, setup, & breakdown of the campsite. I guess they got a little overprotective of us when they saw the handicap placard in the windshield of our coach. In short, when we pass through that area again, we WILL be staying there again.!!!Re: Winnebago Motor HomesOwned a mid 80's Chieftain 23' back in the early 90's & wore it out in 99. It took all the abuse I could give it & it only cost me 1 tire. Now we own a 99 Adventurer & it's holding up well with only a few minor issues. So as far as longevity, Winnebago sure seems to be able to go the distance. The only thing I would change about our current coach would be to have bought the one with 2 bathrooms & slide outs rather than the one we have, but that's hindsight for you... :BRe: snowbird advice neededYou might want to check with your homeowners insurance Co. about this. We found out that if our home was not inhabited at all times, it was considered "abandoned" and that would cancel the insurance...Re: And what else could break on this trip...I'm just trying to share the joy of owning an older coach, and take these things with a grain of salt. & after 30 years in EMS & 35 years of being a nurse I do indeed know better to ask "What else...." & "Gee isn't it nice to have a quiet shift once & awhile???" Because that's when the fertilizer meets the oscillating air mover. :BAnd what else could break on this trip...Our second major trip in our 99 Winnebago Adventurer started out great, but as we traveled south strange things started happening... The key to the fresh water tank broke. :E The windshield wipers started acting up. :h ( see separate posting on this ) Upon unloading my mobility scooter, it broke. :( While getting a glass of water, the kitchen faucet exploded in DW's hand. :E ( That was not fun ) While I'm grateful that the repairs by both the mechanics were very reasonable, (Kudos to Gary at Victory 24/7 Roadside Repairs.) I think I'm starting to get a little paranoid to the point that I'm seriously thinking of putting a couple of "gremlin bells" under the hood of our coach. If you've never heard of a "gremlin bell" some bikers believe in hanging these little bells near the bottom of the frame of their motorcycle. The ringing of the bells is said to drive the road demons away.... :W1999 Adventurer Windshield wiper issueDuring our first trip to southern Florida, we passed through a rainstorm, & during this part of the trip when I had the wipers set on delay setting, the stopping point would vary randomly. :h Normally the stopping point is at the center post in the windshield. Any one have this happen to them & what repairs are needed? :? It's not a major problem as I can keep moving the wipers until they stop out of my field of view...Re: MyRV mailDITTO! Great company to do business with! :BRe: Full timers towing vehicle? We tow a KIA Sedona Mini van on a tow master tow dolly. Easy on, easy off as far as loading / unloading. The tie down straps are starting to become a PITA as we age. We chose this option for the following reasons; The KIA holds 2 mobility scooters & other stuff. The tow dolly holds the KIA. The Winnebago tows the tow dolly & us. :BRe: Late night faucet problems 2edgesword wrote: Did you take Ambien before turning in for the night? No. Unfortunately I was totally sober.... :B
