This is her first RV and she has done very well so far. I cannot go there because the distance is to far. Does anyone have a 1994 Alpenlite 29 RK XL and you tell me where the water pump is located please? Thank you in advance Chrisforest river boost 36DSX13Hello I own 2 forest river products at the present time. I have been extremely pleased with the Quality of these 2 toy haulers. Both are of 2000 vintage Both have held up very well over the years. My F26 sandpiper sport had a tree fall on it above the ramp door and held up quite well. But it is reaching the end of its usefulness. I have been eyeballing the forest river boost 36DSX13 and was wondering if anyone on this forum has one of these trailers. Just looking for insight. Thank you ChrisRe: nose of trailer made contact with cab of truck rhagfo wrote: The simple fact is to turn sharp up to 90 degrees, with a square nosed 5er. You need the pin to be at least half the width of the 5er back from the cab, less than that it will make contact at less than 90 degrees! If you have a short bed and have between 48" to 50" between pin and cab, the pin is likely aft of the rear axle. DURB thank you for your observations. Excluding the 3 vehicles, all my other toys were Craigslist purchases. There are amazing deals out there. And I found them. I have begun downsizing as I get closer to retirement. Now the hitch . After moving the 2 arms back I still did not have enough clearance so I finally moved the main pin to the farthest position aft. After I finished. I took the measurement from the center of the plate hole to the edge of the cab and came up with 56 inches.. went and measured from the center of the pin on the trailer to the farthest edge and came up with 51 inches. I have not had time yet to hook up and see the reality of making a tight turn . But soon I hope to see. Thanks for all the interest. ChrisRe: Duramax is king of the mountain againI read this thread from start to finish. I love all the comical comments. Everybody has their Favorite truck. I started with a 96 dodge cummins single cab. moved into a 99 quad cab 4X4 Bombed the **** out of it. Still own it however it lives in another state and when I go to that other state it starts right up with the first turn of the key. Still my favorite truck. My Alaska truck was then a 07 classic Duramax 6.6 diesel/Allison Truck was ok but I was continually having to put Ball joints and tie rods yes I drove it hard. But the DW decided she did not like the Chevy D/A for some reason. I bought a 13 ram 3500 4x4 6.7 CCSB CUMMINS WITH THE Asin tranny. This truck rides like a luxury car and can pull buildings down. when in normal towing up grades the transmission is seeking the sweet spot all the time. I shift it to manual and leave it in 4th gear and it will power up any grade and accelerate. I am bonding very well with this truck and the DEF is no issue at all. I cannot speak with any useful opinion on ford diesels because I have never owned one. however my father who is a lifelong die hard ford owner who has a 2012 CCSB 3500 4x4 ford loves my 13 ram enough after riding with me that he is looking at the new rams for a purchase. yes I pull trailers with my truck and a 3500 is a bit of a overkill for what I use it for. But I could not be happier with my 2013 with 35000 miles and 0 issues except a few recalls. Just my 2 cents worth. Not trolling. Have a great day.Re: nose of trailer made contact with cab of truck Me Again wrote: Wait a minute here. IF you had the socket in position #2 that puts everything closer to the cab. With a short bed you would want it in position #1 and the pivot arms with the slope to the front and in the rear most holes. Chris Yes you are correct.. Thank you! Manufacturer says that for my truck it is designed for position 2. Because of the centering over the axle! ThanksRe: nose of trailer made contact with cab of truckHello all Thank you for all the helpful remarks. Thank you for the non helpful remarks. I am not a Moron. I just did not do my homework. What I learned so far from my own research. The Reese extension is not recommended for use with my B&W Turnover ball. Yes B&W has a slider But B&W says that on the 2013 Dodge ram 3500 the slider May or may not make contact with my tailgate in the rear position. They are unable to tell me for sure if it will make contact with the tailgate of my truck ??? The Existing Companion hitch has 2 positions for the Main Pin and 3 adjustable positions for the arms that hold the 5th wheel plate. I adjusted the arms for the 5th wheel plate. and gained 3 inches of extra clearance still not enough to swing the trailer. the next step is to adjust the Pin that goes into the Socket and changes the orientation of the hitch placement in the bed of the truck this second change is supposed to give me a total extra 7 extra inches to the rear of the truck. I am hoping that might be enough. Again thanks for the help. and not so much for the rude comments. Chrisnose of trailer made contact with cab of truckI will try to condense this. 1999 wildwood sport 5th wheel toy hauler, Has a 9 inch pin extension on the existing pin box. previous owner had a 2005 short box dodge crew cab. When I purchased the trailer I pulled it with a 2007 crew cab Chevy long box. Had no problems turning the truck and trailer in tight turns. I sold the Chevy and brought a 2013 dodge ram Crew cab short box that came with the hidden goose neck hitch I purchased the B&W companion hitch as this is the same set up in my 99 QC Dodge long bed and I have 0 problems with this set up. So I am pulling my trailer listed above with the 2013 SBCC dodge 3500 and I have to make a very tight turn in a cul-de-sac. well **** the trailer contacts the rear Cab pillar and does $2000 worth of damage to the truck. I can only make a turn at about 37 degrees when connected to the trailer. How do I fix this what do I need to buy. advice suggestions answers Help please. thank you ChrisRe: Lance Camper Corporate help AISURFFISH wrote: DownTheAvenue wrote: Chris, I am not trying to be a smart a$$, but why didn't you just call Lance with your questions rather than ask here if anyone knows if Lance can answer your questions? That's good stuff right there.. That will rattle some cages around here.. Gets kinda stuffy in this forum from time to time.. Thanks Captain Obvious!!! Happy Camping.. Yes you are correct A1surffish kinda fishy..... That's why I have tapered off on making comments or offering my opinion on anything. tired of the drama??? I thought my question was straight forward??? Thanks for your input. maybe if I am up your way sometime you can show me how to surf fish I would love to try that. Have a great day ChrisRe: Lance Camper Corporate helpThank you for the replies. So MY question as to the camper its self is does it have the cold weather package. The owner told me well of course it does not have the cold weather package it has aluminum siding. If it has aluminum siding it would never hold up in a northern environment.???? I can see I am dealing with a mental giant. Yes I went to the lance site and downloaded the brochures. Yes the cold weather option is listed. My question to this forums was to A) hopefully someone else has done this meaning providing lance with a serial and finding out everything that they wanted to know. and B) Maybe someone might have the contact information already thus saving me the hassle of the run around of trying to find the correct contact person or that one of the forum members could point me in the right direction to find the answers. I am at work right now so my free time is very limited so I thought some one might be able to just point me to the right place. thank you for all the positive and helpful replies. ChrisLance Camper Corporate helpHello when looking at used Lance campers to purchase and the owners cant really tell you the information you are looking for and I had the serial number of the camper that I am interested in, Would Lance camper company be able tell me all the information I wanted about options for that specific camper??? Thanks in advance. Chris
