Lums pond will be on left Sorry 896 does not work for me coming from Annapolis RT. 50 to 301 north.Re: What's up with Rt. 301 in Delaware? dblr wrote: Yes 301 is now a toll road but it is complete and opened, there are 2 exits for Middletown the 1st one is the lower end of 301 that will bring you out just above the travel plaza, the 2nd one ( which is best for where you want to go ) I believe is the one for 896 that brings you out a bit above the town. We are local so usually avoid the tolls (we are cheap as well ) Thanks for the info, I will have to see what the toll charge is and whether or not to get off at the first exit or not. The whole road is only 11.9 miles according to EZpass info I just got with my new EZpass tag for the vehicle, old one aged out. I'll go online and see if it's a bit pricey or not, but thanks for letting me know about the two exits, I did not see that on the Google overhead view. What's up with Rt. 301 in Delaware?I am travelling to Del. in Sept. I had planned to go across Annapolis bridge into Maryland and want to go up 301 to Middletown, Del. and get on Rt. 71 & 896 north. I will be camping at Lums Pond, New Castle Co. Del. I heard that 301 was a toll road and have looked at Google maps overhead but it just shows dirt construction still. It doesn't look like there is an exit to get to the Middletown area and over to Rt. 71. Has anyone any new information about this area and how do I get to Rt 71 and over the Summit Bridge to Lum's Pond?Antenna digital signal finder Model SL1000I don't know if anyone bought this and had any better luck than I or my friend did? I purchased the SURELOCK Digital TV Signal Finder some time ago. The first time out it actually worked well enough that I convinced my friend to buy one also. Well, we didn't go camping for awhile and my friend did and he said it never worked for him. I was surprised to hear that so the next time I went camping I was going to show him my Finder worked. It did not work and then we tried his and it didn't work either. We tried everything we could think of but this was just another POS from our friends in CHINA. This is the SureLock King Controls Model SL1000. So, if anyone out there is considering purchasing this, buyer beware. Save your receipts and go camping and use it so you can return it as soon as you get back. The first time I used it was out front of my house, and it worked great. Next time camping was a few months away and well, it did not work again. It was past the 90 day Camping World return so we both bought a piece of junk and just want to pass it along. Hope that helps someone.Rt. 30 Lancaster to Gettysburg, PaIn the planning stage right now, looking to go from Roamers Retreat in Lancaster, to Gettysburg, Pa. Looking at Google Maps they had me going 3 different ways. The one that looks the shortest has me wondering what the roads are like. Rt. 30 from Lancaster goes through York, Pa. has anyone driven that way recently? Is this a decent enough road for a fifth wheel to travel as far as avoiding branches from trees and such? How about road construction? We are going to Pa in September, after leaving Lancaster area, we want to travel to see the Battle fields of Gettysburg, before going to Baltimore area. That is the other concern as to which road to take from Gettysburg to Baltimore, Rt. 140 or 15 to 70 and into the 695 beltway. Any suggestions?GS Swipe and Save CardThis may have been answered before but I didn't see anything when I looked quickly. We are going on a month trip soon, and I was looking through my old discount cards and such. I came across the GS Swipe and Save card which I have never used, totally forgotten in the bottom of the cards. My question then is this still a good card? I got it in 2014 according to papers that were with it, and it says it's good till 2018. I Read about the RV Credit card but I am not interested in that as I have all the credit cards I care to carry. So, bottom line is this still good for any discount for gas, and do you need to go inside to get any discount at the RV pumps? Just want to know if I should keep the card or toss it out.Re: Gettysburg to Baltimore SR 140?Thanks Busskipper and Terry25 for your comments, I just remember being stuck in a whole mass of traffic coming down 15 and 70, not sure which. I was thinking that even though 140 might be slower it might be faster than being stuck behind a mass of cars going nowhere. I guess when we get there I'll decide but going to Essex to see my daughter is our destination. I'm thinking of going over the east side of 695 to avoid the toll of the bridge and it drops right into the Essex area. When we leave we will then go over the Francis Scott key bridge to head south and home.Gettysburg to Baltimore SR 140?I am wondering if anyone has traveled with a TT, or Fifth wheel over SR 140 from Emmitsburg to 695 in Baltimore. It looks on the map like it would be a shorter distance to go rather than going down 15 to Frederick, MD and then onto RT 70 into Baltimore. We are in the planning stages for a summer end trip and just looking at possibilities for travel. I would like to stop at Gettysburg and tour around as it's been many years since we saw it last. Any comments would be appreciated on this state road 140, any obstacles, low tree branches etx. ThanksRe: Campsite suggestions for Moab, Utah RaenMark wrote: bogeyF250- I would recommend at least 1 LONG day for Arches and another for Canyonlands. With the addition of Dead Horse point, you could tack another half day in Canyonlands once you were done at the state park. The drive along Hwy 128 is a couple of hours. We did that after going around the LaSalle Mountain loop, it's a very scenic drive around the "backside" of Moab. Very nice drive. You can also head south from Moab to the 4 Corners area and Monument Valley. We stayed 5 days and could have used another 3-4 to see everything we wanted to. Planning another spring visit to hit those places we didn't. The Needles area of Canyonlands, Cedar Breaks, Goosenecks State Park just to name a few. It's beautiful part of the country. Figure how long you think it will take and add at least half again to your estimate. One word of caution, take plenty of water! The National Parks have a couple of potable hook-ups in each and don't sell bottled water anymore. We went in April and went through a case for the two of us in the 5 days, just while away from the rig. Do some research ahead on access for your furry friends, they are welcome in some areas, but not in others. RaenMark, Thanks for the comments, I will definitely take along more water because we will most likely be in Moab in May so it may be a bit warmer by then. Also the info on how long you stayed and visited is really useful, now I can plan a time line for the area and that will be a big help. Thanks again to all that have answered my posting!Re: Campsite suggestions for Moab, Utah LindaAnn wrote: We stayed at Spanish Trail RV Park just south of town and liked it. The sites were fine--we were in a motorhome. The views were really pretty and the park was quiet. There was a nice big area to walk our dog. After Arches and Canyonlands, I would definitely recommend Dead Horse Point State Park for beautiful views. Also just north of town, There is scenic Hwy 128 which runs alongside the Colorado River--lots of great views and one of the pull-offs is a short drive to Fisher Towers, one of the rock formations is the one used in the Citibank commercial of the woman rock-climber! Also, not long after you begin the drive, you will see the Red Cliffs Lodge. They have a wonderful free museum with lots of memorabilia from the many movies made in and around Moab. Just for fun, you might want to visit the Hole in the Rock, just south of town! We loved Moab and the surrounding area--hope you enjoy as much as we did! Thanks to all for your comments, and LindaAnn thanks for the extra info on Dead Horse Point as well as the other things to do in Moab. I don't know anything about Moab but I have seen pics of it and I hope it all works out that we get to see a lot of it. I am not sure of my time line for our stay as I do have a deadline for my return home. So, not sure how much time to allot to our visit in Moab and be able to visit Arches and surrounding area, any suggestions on amount of time to do these things?
