And after the last week, the real question is: The steel they used for mfg process, doe’s it come from China or USA ? :@Re: Diesel Kleen to clean DPF?Yes, everyone can say what they want about VW and the dieselgate but you should read this before. http://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2016-01-20/cheating-vws-are-cleaner-than-ethanol When you live in a house of glass, don't start throwing rocks... ;)Re: Def Fluid LIfeWell, i'm not surprised at all about DEF jug fill up with water at WM. I did happen to me, not with DEF but with a printer ink cartridge. The box was resealed perfectly (can't tell it has bee open) but the seal of plastic inner container was open and the cartridge empty. So let me tell you that by now on, I open the box in front of the teller at the cashier every time I purchase a ''new'' cartridge... And you should do the same about DEF jug. Open the jug and smell it. DEF is DEF.Re: VW/AudiHi Ktmrfs, Thanks for the info. And yes, 25 mpg for a such a vehicule as yours is pretty good. And for VW, I don't think it would be fair to ask them to pay billions of dollars in fine. : http://www2.epa.gov/enforcement/caterpillar-inc-clean-air-act-settlementRe: VW/AudiI have a question. Doe's the EPA emission standards are the same for cars and light trucks and SUVs ? Are they less restrictive for light trucks ? You know, even with the VW ''Das scandal'' diesel vehicule, I'm just back from Wilmington NC to Montréal with my 2012 Passat TDI with an avg of 51 mi/gal US (4,5 L/100km, hand calculated). I don't believe that I made more pollution than any american PU or large SUV with a diesel engine or even a V8 gaz engine for the same trip...Re: VW/Audi Wilber wrote: Believe the Passat uses urea but the Golf and Jetta don't. Probably just have to up the urea dose on the Passat but how they treat the others will be interesting. I do own a 2012 Passat TDI (and a 2013 Touareg TDI) and both are equipped with urea (AdBlue)injection system. Fuel economy is outstanding on both. Last spring, with the Touareg and my TT, I did average 12,9 L/100 km for a 8,200 km trip to Florida (80% of the time with the TT behind). With the Passat, on highway, it's between 4,3 to 4,5 L/100 (100 to 110 km per hour). And I want to keep both of them that way... ;)Re: What is a "Small TT"?I know that I have a small TT when i'm park close to a mamouth one and I can see the sun rise only at 11 am... :)))))))))Re: Testing AC at home@ PUCampain Note I said the 120V receptical for the washer. If you have an electric dryer DO NOT attempt to plug into it. Electric dryer circuits are 240V NOT 120V. Until as recent as 1996 code permitted the installation of a 3 prong dryer receptical NEMA 10-30 which is a 240V 3 wire (hot / hot / ground). It looks A LOT like a NEMA TT-30r which is the 30A plug for trailers, also a 3 wire but 120V (hot / neutral / ground). With a little effort a it can be made to fit with disasterous results! This is exactly what I did and it work perfectly well at least, here in Canada. My dryer is 240V 30 amps so with two 120V hot, one neutral and the ground (4 wires and the electric motor and controls works on 120V). I use an old extension cord 4' long from an older dryer and I baught at Home Depot, a 120V 30 amps RV plug and a metal box. So I use one 120V hot, the neutral and the ground and cap the other 120V hot. Just plug this adaptor in my dryer plug and my 30' extension of my TT. Howerver, I don't know is US dryers works only on 240V, electric motor incl.Re: Truck salesmen are idiotsFrom OP: '' I only need to pull the trailer twice a year for about 200 miles on relatively level terrain (Florida). '' So why do you need a truck ? It would be a LOT cheaper to pay someone to move your TT and buy yourself a small car...Re: Serious Trailer Sway at Times dodge guy wrote: Yep 1200 lbs minimum. my 35 foot TT weighs 9200 lbs and has a loaded TW of 1200 lbs. I have it setup so I have that much TW with 4 bikes on the back. when leaving for a trip everything is great. Coming home after I use up all the beer and pop that I keep up front, and all the clothes that we use from our front bedroom are now in the basket in the rear, the trailer has a slight sway. I always need to move the dirty clothes up front along with the remaining things in the cooler. just that small amount of weight can make a huge difference! it took many trips to get it to tow properly. and I did it with a Reese Dual Cam. take your time to get it set up properly. you can buy a HA or a PP, but then you`ll just have an expensive improperly setup hitch! and get that receiver swapped out for a good one. With all respect Dodge Guy, if just mooving your dirty clothes and the cooler, make a ''huge'' difference for a TT of that weight and size, you are really on the edge and so border line. It's like playing the Russian roulette. In a emergency manoever like a fast lane change to avoid debris or anything else on the road, you may end up like this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wMkK_DVzjo Yes, a HA is expensive ($3K) but how worth the rest of your combo ? With a SUV and a 34' TT, it's the only system that will save your a... in a emergency situation.
