CGs mean traveling with mostly empty water , gray and black tanks and fewer support items for dry camping. 2. The locations that you plan on staying, hot, cold or varying seasons. For example if you winter in Texas or Florida and summer in the north then the clothing range will be reduced. 3.If you are going to travel past an area going north and south or east and west each year then you could get a small storage unit and pick one set of clothing and leave another set. hobby items at the same time. 4. You may come to realise that (as we found out) you are carrying a lot of stuff that you don't use. If you have not used it for a long time why are you carrying it. With the military we moved every couple of years. At moving time if the box had not been opened then it was left behind. Hope that you enjoy your 2 or more years of full timing.Re: How to know if a unit has heat pumpHere is an explanation for heat pumps. Because heat pumps remove heat form the outside air the colder it gets outside, the less heat there is to get from the outside air and therefore has to run longer. Do not use a temperature setback at night; this is because the air circulated by the heat pump is cooler than that of a gas/propane fired furnace. If you setback the thermostat the heat pump will have to run much longer to reheat the RV. You can think of a heat pump the same way as you think about a residential refrigerator. The frig cools your food and pumps heat out, normally at the floor level over the drip pan. A heat pump works the same way in the summer blowing the chilled air into the RV. In winter the heat pump works in reverse sending the warmed air into the RV and the chilled air to the outside. As stated before AC units and heat pumps for cooling is in accordance with their rated BTUs. I hope that this clears some of the fog around heat pumps. Happy RVing.Re: Ceramic Tile install in TrailerHouston Remodeler has very good advice, only one thing to add is the possibility to use silicone instead of thin set and instead of grout. The silicone will remain flexible as the RV moves. Ensure you use enough silicone for adhesive to the floor to give the tile a good base; use of not enough silicone and a point load on the tile could cause it to crack. Good luck with your project. A trial run on a separate piece of plywood is the way I would proceed to test any method prior to installation in your RV.Re: New truck, New trailer, TONS of sway!In my limited experience your truck such be ok. Most sway can be directly related to hitch weight. My brother with his Ranger pickup towed a trailer with a mini excavator within 100 lbs of the max tow rating for the little truck. The first time he got to the highway he never got 1 mile before we pulled over to the side. Removed the straps on the excavator and moved it forward approximately 1 foot and re-secured the excavator. pulled back onto the highway and finished our 2 hour one way trip without any hint of sway. He kept the same setup for another 3 years before upgrading to a F150 5.0 supercab. All this said the biggest cause of sway is usually related to not enough tougue weight. My brother drives commercially and at that time had more than 10 years driving tractor trailers. Good luck on getting everything setup.
