With 3000+lbs of payload and independent front suspension the ride is great unloaded unlike the 350's I test drove. Its the best of both worlds, ride of a 3/4 ton payload of the 1 ton.Re: Upgrade RV Entertainment SystemThanks guys, I appreciate the info.Re: Upgrade RV Entertainment SystemRoy, Am I understanding you correctly with your bluetooth enabled Jensen. Can you receive from other sources and play on the Jensen sound system? I'd like to be able to play movies from a lap top but send the audio via bluetooth to the Jensen RV entertainment system. Thanks, LanceRe: Speaking of batteries...Since Trojan moved smelting operations to Mexico I have been buying all East Penn batteries from Batteries Plus Bulbs. We monitor each cell's specific gravity with an optical specific gravity refractometer at our off grid cabin. Those measurements are documented and monitored for loss of capacity. I certainly like the ability to measure each cell voltage and specific gravity. The ability to add water or replace water that has evaporated is nice. Personally having twice the battery bank or solar is more important to me than mounting my batteries upside down.Re: Newbie needs help picking the best battery for Lance TC.Make sure the charger is compatible with your AGM's in your climate. The older Progressive Dynamic's chargers were notorious for over charging AGM's. Personally I'd rather buy 2 FLA's than 1 AGM.Re: Winter TipsThanks guys I appreciate it.Re: Newbie needs help picking the best battery for Lance TC.A group 31 will give you a bit more capacity than a 29 at the expense of added weight either will do fine. I would not go the AGM route as most factory converter chargers will over charge them and they will be ruined. The FLA batteries can be topped off if over charged.Winter TipsWill be taking the family and Lance 991 to New Mexico for a ski trip. We are planning on staying at the Angle Fire resort. Little concerned about the freezing weather. Tanks are heated in the camper. Plan on using fresh water rather than hookups. I have a heat strip installed in the A/C. Hoping to avoid any catastrophes if possible. Any suggestions appreciated.Rails under guttersWould like to know what the aluminum rails under the gutters are for? This is on a Lance 915 Lite. Just want to make sure before I install an awning. On our old pop up the awning was inside a bag that hung from a similar channel. I'm planning on going with a carefree colorado freedom model.Re: Sure Start + Honda EU2000 = 13,000 btu Coleman MachMake sure you have some sort of start device in your AC unit. The factory start kits are a bit undersized. A Supco SPP6 costs less than $10 at an AC supply house. The SPP6E is suppose to respond quicker if you can find them. The sure start is a whole new animal. It's expensive but so are generators and air conditioners. When voltage drops current increases which means heated motor windings and that will take life off any motor.
