I want the FMCA discount which is a great deal for these tires. But nobody has them in stock when I call around. I am always told "two more weeks" and this is from 5-6 dealers within 100 mile radius. Anyone know what is going on? After 3 months I think this is ridiculous. Do I wait for the FMCA special or just move on to some other brand? The FMCA price is really a great valueRe: hood bra?check your insurance. if you chip or damage the windshield it could be inexpensive or free to get replaced. as mentioned, avoid the bra too. I find you are better off saving that money to respray or fix later. The bras are ugly too. Enjoy RVing and put aside some maintenance cash for down the road.Re: 2014 Winnebago - Journey - 42EI started with a Journey. I was not happy with the workmanship. But you get what you pay for. It is a great coach but there is a reason it is not a 500K coach. I traded it in and purchased a country coach. Now... I dont know how important "NEW" is to you, but I personally would buy a 800k MSRP coach that is now used for 300-350k than buy a new Journey for 250k. MHs have not changed much in technology the last 5-6 years. So you are not getting anything spectacular in a 2014 vs a 2009. just something to think about. The older custom coach will probably hold its value better because it is a night and day different from a Journey. Go take a look at some used older coaches in that price range. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. And remember for 25k you can rejuvenate a lot of anything that has weathered and aged.Re: Need Help in Choosing MH LengthHow important are the parks? If this is a must, then go with 35-36'. If you can stay minutes outside the park and bring you car in and that works then go much larger. I started with a 34' and regretted it. I enjoyed the experience and happy it got me started but found it very cramped. I then bought a 45. The extra length is everything for living space. I have never regretted the 45'. I think you will find it rare on here to hear someone say "damn, why did i buy this 40,42,45 i should have bought a 34". lol. nobody says it. But you always hear the opposite. We are your age, if you can find a 40'+ then do it. A year is a long time full timing.. make it as enjoyable as possible. but again if you absolutely 100% need to sit in a state or federal park in your rig then you need to be small. but even then 35 is going to be too much.. i personally dont think you will be as happy as you could beRe: Jacks Raising SlowlyThis was always on my checklist when pulling out (when i had an class A baggo) -- get under the rig and spray silicone on the slow jacks. very annoying. I fixed it by finding stronger springs on the internet. it was 7 years ago so i dont remember what i bought. But i figured if the jack can push 5-10000 lbs or more i am sure it can fight a super strong spring. solved the jack problem completely. either that or i guess you could replace the jack but i was never convinced that was a long term solution.2008 Country Coach Affinity --service checklist?I have a 2008 Country Coach Affinity. Great coach, great physical condition. But now it is 6.5 years ago (purchased early 2007) and has not been used in the last year or so. I am planning on a long trip to Alaska in April/May and a few short trips in the next few months. What should I get serviced and where? The coach is in Las Vegas. I feel that I should get the engine oil/coolant/etc done by a Freightliner or someone that services trucks (it has a Cummins engine) and I also think it is time for change all of the tires (again, probably a truck shop?) Can someone recommend a truck shop? Do these guys know what the checklist is for servicing this coach? Does anyone have access to this checklist? I probably need to also change instahot coolant, generator oil, ??. Should I change: engine batteries and the coach (deep cycle) batteries?
