Stopping overnight - rookie question
Quick question from a real rookie. Planning a quick couple day drive to in-laws, not a pleasure drive, just point A to point B with a fifth wheel. If we stop in a rest area or parking area overnight, do I need to drop the landing gear and unhook? Or can I just leave the RV hitched to the truck while we sleep in it overnight? I am new to RV's,towing and rv.net, but very enthusiastic about the new friends and experiences ahead. We are heading from Bloomington, IN to near Dixfield, ME, towing a 5th wheel. In previous years we took a northern route to avoid large cities and crowded interstates. I am interested any any route suggestions, avoidance recommendations or inputs from more experienced travelers. I hope to make the trip in three days or less because I don't know any better.
