More wondering about the wind potential. NSevere thunderstorms- do we need to lower the TV antenna?First trip with our TT and, of course we are under severe thunderstorm warnings. We have a crank up TV antenna. Do we need to lower it?Re: pros/cons seasonal siteWe are newbies, but made the decision to get a seasonal site 90 minutes from home, Thanks to work schedules, getting away to a new campsite every weekend just is not feasible - but driving 90 minutes to a place where it is already set up for use is. We have longer trips set up every month of the summer and will be in a campground where we can pull out for those trips without any problem. We are looking forward to making friends at our campground and to our trips. Plus, we can park the TT on our seasonal site year round, solving our storage problem.Re: Best Tie Out Suggestions Happytraveler wrote: We have a swivel underneath the step of the motorhome and connect two leashes to it. We add leashes to the two leashes to make it longer. The dogs never get tangled up. If we tie them up around a tree we take the swivel and leashes off the motorhome and wrap it around the tree. We always make sure they have their harnesses on especially when tied up. I am curious about your swivel - do you have a picture?Shaw Satellite - quad outputWe just received our Shaw dish, tripod, etc. It came with a "triple satellite quad output switchable xKu LNBF". The instructions say to run one coax cable from the dish to the receiver. If our receiver is in the trailer, do we just run the coax to the satellite input on the panel outside? If we have 2 receivers, do we run 2 cables? Can you tell I am clueless about this stuff?Re: Bicycles-recommendations?Definitely go get fitted. I rode a Trek for years - loved it but my riding style changed. I now have a Giant - another great bike.Re: Bought presents for the TCWe made our first visit to CW this week too - bought a really comfy camping chair with foot stool for me, a clip on cup holder for my chair and a bike cover. All on sale and lower priced than we'd seen elsewhere. I too love gifts for the travel trailer.Re: Cooking questionYou can buy a griddle pan that works on the bbq.Fire ring/bowl??Do you travel with one? What do you use? Hubby doesn't want propane - only a real wood burning fire.Re: First season with your RV or travel trailer-what did you do?I wish we could do the long trips everyone has described, but limited vacation time from work means our trailer will mainly be a weekend home for the next decade or so. Thus the inquiry - set up in a new place every Friday night or have a "home away from home" always waiting unless we've planned a different trip? I should add that we can't park it at home, so will be paying regardless of whether it is at a campground or storage yard.
