It was almost unsafe to drive at highway speeds. So I got centramatics wheel balancers (I think they're called) You can buy them for anything but truckers use them a lot. They are a ring that mounts behind tire and continually balances your tire and anything rotating attached to it. So on a rear end it is balancing even the axles. but they work great and it's a one time investment. You can buy the beads that go into the tires and they work good to but usually you replace them after a tire change. I also have been told they stick to the rubber in the tires sometimes now because of condensation or other reasons, and no green slim or fix a flat with these.Re: The Ultimate DIY thread - Ubuilding (Pics)Very interesting build want to see moreRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.little off topic but I brought my coleman 5000 watt contractors generator with me to the Tampa RV show (biggest RV show in America) and you can stay there overnight dry camp which i don't like doing because I have a travel trailer which really isn't set up to dry camp very long, Only one battery and so on. but I brought my genny just in case while everyone is at lunch I might need it to charge battery or something, but luckly bought new battery and work out very well. But Another guy had one of these same generators and he was parked about 100 yards away and that thing screems I was embarassed for him and he ran that thing the whole time he was awake and in his trailer. But actualy back to my point when I got home I wanted to start it to see if it would start easy since last years rv show when I used it and I was amazed 1 pull and she started right up. that was the only time it was that easy ever. Back to topic hopefully when money gets right again I realy want one of these chinese generators. I saw a few running where we were parked but mainly the 2000 watt hondas where everywhere I just can't justify $900 plus for one of those and it won't run my air, no thanksRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. lane hog wrote: Floyd, you just don't give up.... I'd love to get 15 mpg out of my 31' Class C gasser. I'd love to see Jayco quality at Fleetwood prices. And I'd love to get full hookups at NFS campgrounds. None of those are going to happen anytime soon. "All the RV world is waiting".... Hogwash. I'd be willing to guess that the time and effort you (and others?) have spent trying to quiet down the 3Kw gensets has probably cost more at a fair day's wage than it would have been to just buy the ultra-quiet genset in the first place.... Both the Prius and Corolla are good cars. Their relative value in the eye of the purchaser is different. The noise conscious RV'ing world has continued to pay top dollar for Yamaha and Honda, and to a lesser degree, Kipor. These are the same type of buyers who willingly pay top dollar for a Prius. The more cost sensitive RV'ing world has endorsed using the Champs, Powermates, and other open frame gensets, while acknowledging that they're not in the same league as the gensets that cost 4x and up what they paid. These are the same type of buyer who would like a Prius, but settle for a Corolla. You can continue to seek your Holy Grail of Power Generation, but I think this conversation has been beaten to death several hundred times over. I know there are far more meaningful and productive things you and I can be doing with our time. I chime in at least 2 or 3 times a week just to check this blog. I am loving the ideas that everyone are try with there boxes. I want to buy one of these chineese gensets but haven't yet, but I do have an old coleman 5000 watt beast and I biult a box myself for that, and it won't be the last box I build for it or other generators as I keep reading this thread fo all the great minds and knowledge. thank you and keep up the good work.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I went to the tampa rv show last month and the only venders I saw there (for generators)where the ones for the high end motor home like cummins, hondas, and onan. they want alot of money for there generators wow! I'll probalby go to trackor supply and buy a champion soon. thanks for the great info in this thread. I would love to now how to make a new enclosure like the one the professor95 made (I beleive) with the photos that looks great.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. All of those store you all have listed I have never seen where I live in Florida. I know of a Tractor supply that 45 min. away but thats the only one.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. ol Bombero-JC wrote: ~ Before spending your 240 bucks, ask Big Lots, or check the gen's paperwork for: ~ Where do I get service? Parts? (call the service & parts line/s!) Is there a "tech line" to call for problems? "moving parts"! - Buyer beware! JC PS: Hmmmmmm . . . For $60. more you can get a 4000W Champion, with a 30amp RV outlet - that's been tested every way from Sunday on here! Lots and lots of happy users too. Excellent service & parts, real people to talk to, etc. Where do I find somewhere local that I can look at on and maybe buy then for only $60 more. Harbor frieght has a 3500 max 3000 genny with the switch to go back and forth from 120 and 240 and I like that one to but they want $399 for that one. I like to see what I'm buying ussally but do buy things off the internet a littleRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Hi I went to Big Lots yesterday and they have a 3500 max 3000 watt generator on sale for $240.00 and I thought it looked nice. it only has 1 20 amp duplex and said it was rated at 70 dbs. just wondering what everyones thoughts are on this. oh it was a power craft pro.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. This is alot of information to look over wow!
