Hoping it won't affect the sway control too much as I read elsewhere. I figured as much about the furnace, I guess I will have to take the TT out when I get home next month and run the heater for a while!First camping trip: Success!!We went on our first camping trip with the new TT 2 weeks ago and it was great! A group of us took 3 TT's and 11 people up to Tyler State Park in Tyler, Tx. The weather was great and we had lots of fun just hanging out around the campfire. We made breakfast burritos in the mornining using the outdoor kitchen, it was nice to have all the room and not be confined to the inside of the TT. Activities included a day trip to Canton, Tx first of the month trades days, a little bit of sight seeing at the park and a lit bit of sitting around the campfire talking and BSing. I didn't expect Tyler SP to be as nice as it was, I hope all other parks can live up to the expectations now! Setting up was a breeze and I learned a thing or two from the other more experienced campers in the group. We all had such a great time that we have a spring trip to Fredericksburg in the plans. The only two issues I ran into were the heater and the WD hitch. This was the first time to use the heater and it had an aweful smell. I was expecting that but what I didnt expect was that it would still smell after 2-3 hours and would cause the smoke alarm to constantly go off. Is this normal or can I expect it to eventually stop as the system is broken in? Secondly, my equal-i-zer hitch. I didnt notice until I got to the the campground and rolled down my windows how LOUD that thing is. It was popping and creaking so loud I couldn't decide if I sounded like a junk hauler or a drive by shooter taking pop shots at every one. Needless to say, I turned a few heads pulling in. All in all it was a successful trip and we are already starting to plan the next one.Re: Jumping right in! TXiceman wrote: KWCamper, hope you got a diesel. Ken No I got the 6.2 gas. I do get a nagging feeling every once in a while that I made a mistake but I got a good deal on this one and just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on a diesel. Man those things are expensive!!Jumping right in!Hello everyone, I have been lurking around here for a few months and have really enjoyed reading all the posts. This is my first TT and the wife and I are still feeling our way around all the ins and outs. We bought a '15 Prime Time Tracer 36 footer and even though I knew it was pretty big for a first time TT, with 3 teen kids anything smaller than this would have me ready to upgrade in a year or two. My original TV was a 2008 Tundra and really handled the TT great when I drove it home from the dealer. I had been reading on this forum about TV capacity and I knew that we were over the limit by a little. Discussed it with the wife and next thing I knew we were at the Ford dealership buying an F250. Problem solved!! Anyway, thanks again for all the advice and tips. We take our first trip at the end of September (Tyler State park), can't wait!
