I have some calls in to a couple of shops in the area that handle RVs and have the lifts to look at it. That's the thing that makes it challenging with RVs, with their size not everyone can work on them. Would love to communicate with you via email if you're open to it. I could send some photos. Transmission leak on 2009 Majestic 28A (Ford E450) My 2009 Majestic 28A Ford E450 with 178k miles has developed a transmission leak. My regular (non-RV specialist) mechanic looked at it and made these comments: "Kinda seems like the bulkhead harness over the transmission is leaking. But also seems like the vent tube is leaking...". He talked to a transmission shop next door and without looking at it, they said their guess is that possibly something going on internally was increasing pressure and creating the leak. I'm hoping someone on here has experience with transmission leaks and a guess on what it could be. I know very little about transmissions. Not excited about having to potentially replace it. Hoping it could be something minor. Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? Hi IAMICHABOD and the rest of the Former Rental Class C gang. I hadn't realized that Good Sam had taken over the RV.net forums. Glad I was able to find our group again. My 2009 Majestic 28A with 178k miles has developed a transmission leak. How many of us out there?Took a 260 mile drive from our home in SoCal to Pismo Beach today in our 2009 Majestic 28A. Going strong at almost 177k miles. Typically, my oil pressure gauge is always in the middle. When I was about 15 miles from Pismo, I noticed it was slightly higher. Maybe at 6 out of 10 instead of normal 5 out of 10. Any hints on what can cause a small increase in pressure. This is the first time in the 7 years I've owned it that I've noticed the gauge go slightly higher than the middle. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic for 5W-20 for high mileage engines. To play it extra safe I change every 3,000 miles. One frustration I have is that I find it almost impossible for to check the oil level. The dipstick always comes out entirely wet in the reading zone, even when I've drained it and added new oil quart by quart. Anyone else deal with this?Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? No insights on my question regarding how to replace the water pump in my 2009 28A I posted a few days ago? Hoping for some guidance on pump model, etc. Thanks!Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Link to photo with arrow showing where leak coming from Link to photo showing pump model info Hi Guys, We've been enjoying our 2009 Majestic 28A the last 5 years and counting. Amazing how durable they are constructed. Having said that, things are going to wear out over time. Our water pump started to leak this weekend. I'm hoping someone can point me to some YouTube instruction videos to replace it, the model # of the pump, and the best place to order it from. Thanks in advance!Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. I've truly enjoyed reading about all the fixes and changes and whatnot. Thanks to all for the info. My husband and I are seriously considering the Majestic 28a. We would like to go talk to someone and considered going to Newark on Friday. Then I remembered the holiday. We'll wait. I would guess that they would be too busy. I have several questions that deal with the bedroom. We're full timers and have two cats and a dog. Pepi, the dog, is a dachshund/beagle mix. Short legs. Any suggestions to make it easier for her to get on the bed? I figure I'll have a better idea of what I can do once I get a better look. I'll probably have to build something. Also, is there any way to make a cat-sized opening for access from the bedroom to the rear storage? Keeping the litterboxes in the storage bay would be so much nicer. Thanks in advance. Hi Pepi's Mom, Welcome to the group! We have a 28A and also a dachshund/beagle mix named Oscar. Love the pesonality. He's my favorite pooch! Sorry, no tips on a way for your dog to get up on the bed on their own. We manually lift Oscar up and down. We love our 28A and highly recommend them.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. I could not find E450 Shock/stabilizers (for CA 28A Majestic) on Amazon. Thanks in advance. Edit: Answering my own question for others in future: Steering Stabilizer on Amazon $115 Rear Shocks part number 33-176840 as per Bilstein (08-16 E450 motorhomes) Front shocks - Part number 33-187563 as per Bilsteing (08-16 E450 Motorhomes) I have linked to Amazon but can be bought cheaper elsewhere. Hey Quasimatter, To figure out what shocks fit my rv, I first went to the Bilstein website and looked up what shock they recommend for my unit, then looked that model up on Amazon. Since my unit is a 23A, and an E350, my rv may or may not use the same shocks as yours. But it looks like you found what you need. I hope you're very satisfied with the shocks. -Booner I purchased the recommended Bilstein shocks and stabilizer that were recommended and had them installed yesterday. I felt a difference one the 3 mile drive home. The true test will be getting out on the higheay for our next trip in 2 weeks. Thanks for posting this info! It was definitely time to replace these parts as my 2009 29A is up to 174,000 miles.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Hi Gang, I'm up in Pismo with my 2009 28A for a couple days. Went to turn on the heater tonight and will not turn on. I think I hear a "click" but the blower doesn't kick on. My propane indicator says 2/3 full and the stove burners work fine. Any troubleshooting suggestions?Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?Welcome to the club! Our 2009 28A is going strong at 171,000 miles (we bought 3 years ago with 161,000 on it-from private party who has bought it directly from CA with 150,000). We're in SoCal but head up your way in the RV often as we have family in Napa Valley. I know there's a lot of us out here on the West Coast as I'm amazed that we usually see at least one CA Majestic on every trip.
