We have had our Southwind covered in snow/ice all winter. Make sure the cover is snug and secure. We get a lot of winter wind in our area and have never had a cover related pronlem. Except for a couple times the wind broke the cord holding the cover in place. The RV was not damaged. I was told the exact opposite from two dealers and an independent RV repair shop when looking to buy one a few years back. The RV repair center put it the simplist, they work on a half dozen campers a year repairing damaged caused by a cover and they have yet to do a repair on a camper that was damaged by snow.Re: Little floor replacement. Will post a finished picture soon.Re: What would you do?Like many have posted, regardless of shape it usually has a value to someone! Many people want something to put on land they own and you should be able to find a buyer. If buying new something not fixable for you may have worth to them and get a few dollars there. Be honest if trying to sell it but ultimately there is always someone looking for something for nothing!Re: PrintersBit of an IT guy here with a bit of working knowledge around printers! First question, do you need pictures in the spur of the moment? If yes than what I say makes no sense for you! Use a service that prints the picture for you. Pick one of the 30 high end online print shops or one of the 1000 low end ones that will print your pics and mail them to you or let you pick up at a local shop. Way cheaper than owning a high end printer and paying for the ink! For documents invest in an app called turboscan, cost $3 When I bought it. This lets you take a picture of anything, frame it with ease so only framing in what you want regardless of your picture taking skills and pdf's it for you. Email it to yourself or anyone's else. This is what I have been doing for the last 3 years and will add in my job I get ink for free!Little floor replacement. The May 24 weekend as we call it in Canada is the first big weekend for most for camping! Will stated we have already spent 8 nights and had a weekend in April in snow before this. We have a small crew that attend regularly with our camping adventures and we pool our expertise and do the yearly maintenance of caulking, checking propane lanes, tires and the other common yearly maintenance items. This year we had a bigger project which a sof floor in the bathrooms of one of the campers so we took on the task of replacing it. The owner thought the shower was leaking or possibly the toilet as the weakest spot was in front of the toilet. After ripping out we discovered it was by the door exiting out of the camper. This camper had a feature we all loved which was a door leading to the outside from the bathroom! Great feature still and it was not the door itself but body moulding to the side that was leaking. In the end the floor wa rotted bad in front of the door, we ripped out what was gone and replaced. Pictures are attached, thought it would be good for people to see the photos. The floor is made up of qtr inch plywood, 1.5 inch of foam than 1/8 plywood. There is not a lot of bracing so we used tphe frame, aluminum framing than took aluminum L channel to brace the exiting floor and new floor to make the patch. Hope the pictures fill the gaps in what I left out. Jerry Trucks ok, just does not need the training wheels! Chris "Training wheels" are a great thing; don't need to worry about what to take to avoid being overweight and leaves lots of room for future fifth wheel upgrades. :C Agree, would not want to go back to a SRW.Any know the details on this generator?I can see clearly it is a Yamaha EF3000iSE but when I search the model the generator that comes up has two 15amp and a 30amp connections. I am thinking it is an older model of the same generator but cannot find a manual or anything in it. Looking to buy it to run my RV. https://www.flickr.com/photos/144391884@N07/33467337932/in/dateposted-public/Re: Camping Grill RecommendationsI have a Jackson Versa 75. Simular warranty to the Weber, very well made and heats quickly. I have mine mounted to the bumper bracket but I think a stand is available. Paid $259 cdn for it which was more then a Weber Q would cost but the Versa is Marine grade. I did not go with the Weber based the size and was not a fan of the look of it. Own a 90's Genesis 1000 I bought and rebuilt for my cottage and a Genesis S-320 at my home. Big fan of Weber just the Q was not for me.Re: Ram Recall2014 3500 dually with 50K and knock on wood I have had no issues yet. Friend has the same truck but SRW with about 65K on it and had the problem once. cummins2014 wrote: kw/00 wrote: JIMNLIN wrote: Another pot stirrin' thread ?? O' boy !! Lets hope not, that's one reason I step away from certain post. One thing that I have known from 43 years is... anything man made will have issues, some worse then others but man made..... I still think Ram builds a good truck, despite liking GMC/Chevy. Cummins is a great engine, and despite peoples personal feelings all trucks have issues time to time. Sometimes we all need to just sit back and thank God that we can live this good and camp. Pot stirrin, I guess if thats what you call it, still a fact with these new Cummins, and Jimnlin you own how many 2013-15 Cummins powered Rams ??? If so you must not have had a DEF issue yet ??? Personal feelings,is that what it is when I have had two DEF issues, and the DEF was checked ,and okay.:h Personal feelings is that what it is, with yet another recall coming on my 2014 3500 Ram Cummins with 25K on it. This will make the 7th recall. I hardly call this personal feelings, shouldn't we just call it the facts on the emission systems on these trucks, it a long ways away from my personal feelings. No doubt the cummins is a great engine, no question, but there are other factors involved. That great engine will not do you a lot of good when your emission system goes bad. It always seems post like yours usually comes from someone that has not had an issue or for that matter does not even own the truck in question I guess I could be like the Ram Mafia members on here, and admit nothing bad about the Ram
