The $39 tire machine I bought from Harbor Freight many years ago has saved me many hundreds of dollars over the years. I haven't paid a tire shop to mount tires for about 20 years. For balancing trailer tires I mount the wheel/tire on the hub then find the heavy spot and add weight to the opposite inside until it rotates without stopping in the same position every time.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Suggestion Oregon, Northern Calif for this summer
Gets pretty hot at Cottonwood during the summer. Watch for rattlesnakes. Nice new facilities though. Its a favorite of some of my friends here in the Bend area. I used to work for our school district in the bus garage. We had numerous problems with the newer diesels and particulate emissions were an issue so we switched to propane. Except for the need to fill up more often the propane busses were a huge improvement. BTW We were still using a few 30 year old International gas busses when I was there, that is until the steering box on one of them went out on a steep winding road. There is a good boondocking spot on the road to Painted Hills. Its on the left, about a mile in next to the creek. There is room for several large Riggs. Its BLM land and there are a few shade trees. We camped there with about 20 other riggs to watch the solar eclipse last year.326Views0likes0Comments
