We purchased RV consumers group program as suggested by some people on this site. We liked the Hurricane floor plan but after reading RV program on the Hurricane we are rethinking. Rv said on highway control that the Hurricane would be fatiguing to drive and wander and be difficult to steer most of the time along with being dangerous in collision or rollover and may be prone to fire and that the quality is substandard . My question is for people that have a Hurricane or have used RV Consumers does there information seem to be correct it seems when reading there information that it is outdated, example would be that when looking up the Hurricane info they did not have the 32 N listed but had 32 A listed which is not made anymore. Also RV made a lot of quotes that seem outdated just wondering if some one with more experience then me thought the same thing and found the info incorrect . I also should add that based on RV consumers ratings most people are driving dangerous motorhomes. Will I be sorry, FR3 by Forrest River 30 DSMy wife and I are looking at the FR3. I know it is a entry level motorhome just wondering if anyone has experience with the FR3 By forrest river,we are on a tight budget . We need the king size bed,we are big size people and had one in our 5th wheel that we loved before we sold it. It has the ford chassis18,000 GVWR and GCWR OF 23,000 I don't know what the cargo capabilities are, any input on that would be great. It also does not have a rear cap on the motorhome and I really need input on the advantages of a rear cap verse's not having one. Also it has Grey gel - coat sidewalls with clear coat and graphics with no paint is that bad I have no idea. My wife and I do like the floor plan on the motorhome but do not want to buy it and regret it in a few months. Any constructive criticism or owners that are happy with the units would be great because as you can tell I don't know @##@ about motorhomes but trying to learn. What type to buyMy wife and I are starting to look for a Motorhome, with plans to see our great Country along with spending a month or 2 in Florida in the winter. I would like some input on what type to buy gas or Diesel our budget is around 80,ooo. We would like to take one trip out west to yellowstone and go to the grand canyon. After that I think most of our travels will be short local trips except our trips to Florida. I would be hauling a 3,700 # car behide us.In our price range there are alot of newer Gas motorhomes with the 362 ford engine. The sales person said the newer engines are alot more powerful then the older MH. We are looking in the 32 foot length. Would a gas get us over the mountains if we go out West.If I go with a Diesel I would have to get an older one for our price range and afraid of the potential cost of maintenance for the Diesel and older coach.
